There is talk that Nathan Carroll is on the outer at Melbourne. Have been thinking about it. He would be a good fit for us. Another option down back that may free up Brian a bit. Will allow Dale to play on smaller guys like Shaggy has been able this year. He also is a bit of a nutter. With him, Brian, Shaggy, Dylan and Timmy Callan the backline would be a pretty hard at it unit. No more soft dogs there.

I know where you are coming from. That is a dream scenario will Williams actually fit. it gives us another option. Depth is always handy. For a year or 2 I think he would do a bettr job than Tiller or Wight or making Shaggy play tall.
 
Nope dont want Carroll. Lakes a good enough full back only problem is once a foward get on top of him he dose drop his head a little. But Carroll well that bloke is a abosulte dud Id perfer Wight over him.
 
I'd be more interested in giving Jason Cloke a go on our list rather than Nathan Carroll. He seems to be more mature as a player now. I think it would be worth a shot.

Apparently trains okay and that would be his best spot - TRAINER.
As long as it is not at our club.

Cloke is a floater. In my mind he would be a waste of a spot on a list. He is a good VFL footballer. Carroll has held down full back in a league side. Just thought he would be worth a crack. He has issues. Our guys aren't angels either.

I take on board the boards greater wisdom. It may be a good option.

Carroll's troubled run getting onto an AFL list originally

Melbourne (Rookie)

Turns 28 years of age prior to the start of next season, add his bad attitude and I personally would happily leave him alone.

Cloke on the other hand is under our noses, does not have publicised personal issues and is about 2 years younger.

I think Cloke has a little bit more value to us than Caroll.

I dont think we want a person like him at our club mayb get a game 4 williamstown 2nds because tiller wight and oshea will keep him out
 
I am not sure that Carroll is much better than some of the young guys we have on our list anyway. I would much rather keep Cam Wight, Tiller etc in the hope that they might take the next step rather than taking on 28 year old Carroll who is not much better then they are,if at all.

The games I saw Melbourne this year where he played, he was towelled up. He looks ridiculous because he is roughing up his opponent before the bounce, giving him verbals etc etc, then proceeds to get an absolute towelling. I am thinking "mate, why don't you save your energy for trying to spoil your opponent rather than trying to rough him up before the game". His disposal isn't exactly blue chip either.
 
It seems that everytime a player is given the flick we have a thread about whether we should pick them up. All due respect to Melbourne but let's face it, if I guy is out of favour with the wooden spooners do you really think we want them? I can see your logic Bomberdog but I'd steer away from this guy.
 
I couldn't care less about his off-field traits. So I don't mind from that point of view.

He has a down side however...
