Just a little query. what are your opinions of nathan krakouer as your 7th forward. i have him at the moment and as he is only costing about 190,000, do you reckon he is a good investment?

Ireckon he is a smoky who is looking at playing the quater back role for PA. he has been in there best players every game this pre season and all port players have been looking for him to clear the ball from def. 50. i thought peter bourgoyne might have influcenced his numbers but in the two games they have played together he has still scored well (dt wise anyways). So what are everyones opinion on him as a 7th forward?

I have him as my 6th forward but I'm going to have probably Mitch Brown and Taylor Walker on the bench in case Krakouer gets dropped. He seems to score better in SC from what I've seen in the NAB Cup, so yeah, top choice. But I do have to agree with Ozzy - this thread needs to be deleted. ;)

Geez fellas, take it easy, he's not the first to do this and definitely won't be the last. Like Walesy said, there;s been a heap of these players, so its nothing new.
 
The 'smokies' that get attention at the end of the pre-season are the players usually on everyone's lips.. and teams.

Kracks isn't really a smokie.. played reasonably well during the pre-season.

However there are many questions you need to ask yourself.

e.g.

Do i want to pay $200k+ for a second year player when i can have players like Brown, Gumby, Walker, etc for $94k or a player like Yarran or Ziebell for a little more?

Will Kracks still score well when the real season starts.. bearing in mind during the pre-season teams are experimenting and the focus isn't necessarily on 'winning' all the time?

Will young players like Kracks struggle when the intensity raises during the real season?

Will the youngsters be made scape goats when the team starts losing?

I'd advise to do your own research and not take the 'popular' beliefs of posters or even fantasy freako as gospel.

My advice, this is what your team should look like:

B: Hodge, Goddard, Fisher, Gilbee, Cornes, Shaw, Drummond (P.Burgoyne, Newman)

C: Ablett, Bartel, Judd, Goodes, Cooney, Black (DalSanto, Cross)

R: Cox, Petrie (Sandilands, Hille)

F: Riewoldt, Harvey, Pavlich, Franklin, O'Keefe, Delidio, Goodwin (Chapman, Brown)
