The best video game (not just sports game) is back for another year. Well, in 7 weeks.

2 major features already announced.

1. Major expansion of MyLeague/MyGM that will allow users to include 36 teams in a league and choose from classic/national/custom/relocated teams. Heaps of customisation.

2. National teams. If you enjoy pretending to play as Slovenia, this is for you. Boomers confirmed.

Seattle, Las Vegas & Vancouver sounds good for the West. Virginia, Dakota & Baltimore can be the East.

Then to make some custom players...and juggle some of the first up free agents available. Gonna be a long process juggling 70 new and current players for expansion sides. All this whilst I choose OKC, trade Westbrook for maximum value and land myself a young upcoming guard, readying up for the rebuild.

Expansion drafts are put into play for expansion teams, these were the rules when the Bobcats came into the league.

• The Charlotte Bobcats Expansion Draft will take place on June 22 (if the NBA Finals extend to seven games, it will be June 23), prior to the 2004 NBA Draft on June 24.
  
  
  
• The Bobcats will select a minimum of 14 players who are under contract or restricted free agents for the 2004-05 season.
  
  
  
• The Bobcats may select no more than one player from each team.

So I would assume you won't need to create custom players.

Jesus. Another one of those tacky, cringe-worthy Freq MyCareer mode, I would lose it. Don't enjoy these "movies within a game". Just no reason for it.

Agreed. The story was crapola last year, although i liked the high school and college part. There needs to be more to the career mode imo, you did the story and it felt like that was really it, it was dry after.

As for the expansion stuff, it sounds awesome. Can't wait to see how it all works.

Really hope they've done something to make MyLeague/MyGM more deep and interesting after a few years (other than expansion). Playing multiple seasons and different saves in 2K15 and 16 has shown to me how boring and flawed the mode still is. Teams filled with far too many ordinary players, teams filled with players at one position and then the horrible lifeless looking generated players. Hope they can add more storylines, background to players etc and make draft classes that aren't so ordinary outside of the top 5 picks.

Would love if they could bring in a weekly news show or segment that sums up the events in the league, as you'd feel far more immersed in the mode.

Same goes for MyCareer. Time to make it far more like MyLeague/MyGm in that you can see a lot more of what is happening in the league. Still think I'll mostly stick to MyLeague/MyGm unless they make MyCareer far more interesting after the first season or two. It's literally a chore after that.
