Very happy the way the team is travelling at the moment. Our depth is very good at the moment, the bench is really helping us. Hopefully we see Radman over his hand injury in the not too distant future so he can start effectively shooting the 3...

NEW YORK, Nov. 27, 2006 – The Orlando Magic’s Dwight Howard and the Denver Nuggets’ Carmelo Anthony today were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Nov. 20 through Sunday, Nov. 26.

Howard averaged 18.5 points on .531 shooting and a league-best 14.3 rebounds in leading Orlando to a 3-1 week. Posting double-doubles in all four of Orlando’s games, including a 24-point, 23-rebound effort in the Magic’s lone loss, Howard’s inside presence paced the Magic during a week that included victories over three Eastern Conference opponents. Howard’s 13.5 rpg leads the NBA and the Magic’s 10-4 record leads the East.

Anthony led the Nuggets to a 4-0 record, averaging 31.3 points on .548 shooting. Anthony also dished out 5.3 assists and pulled down 4.8 rebounds while averaging 2.8 steals. After scoring 30-plus points in three of Denver’s four games last week, Anthony now has scored 30-plus in nine of Denver’s 12 games on the season. Denver has won eight of nine, including five straight, after opening the season 0-3.

Dwight Howard, Orlando Magic
Nov. 20 @ Memphis: Posted his second-consecutive 20-point, 20-rebound night in a 95-86 loss.
Nov. 22 vs. Indiana: Tallied 16 points and 11 rebounds in Orlando’s 96-91 win.
Nov. 24 @ Miami: Connected on 11-of-15 free throws and totaled 23 points and 12 boards as the Magic edged the Heat 107-104.
Nov. 25 vs. Atlanta: Howard’s 11-point, 11-rebound night propelled Orlando to its third-straight win, 98-79 over the Hawks.

Carmelo Anthony, Denver Nuggets
Nov. 21 vs. Chicago: Tallied 29 points, four rebounds and four assists in Denver’s 113-109 win.
Nov. 22 @ Golden State: Poured in 33 points to go with nine rebounds in the Nuggets’ 115-115 road victory.
Nov. 24 vs. Golden State: Scored 30 of the Nuggets’ whopping 140 points as Denver swept the home-and-home with the Warriors.
Nov. 26 vs. Los Angeles Clippers: Anthony’s 33 points, six assists, five rebounds and four steals led Denver to its 103-88 win over the Clippers.

Other nominees for Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were Cleveland’s Drew Gooden and LeBron James, Dallas’ Dirk Nowitzki, Detroit’s Chauncey Billups and Tayshaun Prince, Indiana’s Jermaine O’Neal, Milwaukee’s Andrew Bogut, Minnesota’s Kevin Garnett, Sacramento’s Kevin Martin and Toronto’s T.J. Ford.
