Refs, Wells and Trez all mic’d up. The NBL know exactly what went on. Davis went off his nuts at the spectator who then went off sheepishly covering his face.

Those seats aren’t cheap and you don’t buy them anonymously. They know who owns the seats and they know that they would know who this joker is. Half the problem I expect will be who that person is and the sort of “influence” they might have.

They don't have more "influence" than Trez who will be speaking to his NBA mates good or bad about coming here. The NBL need to handle this one well...

Harrell has been charged with two charges of striking, engaging in a melee and inappropriate grabbing or handling of a spectator.


Davis has been charged with inappropriate grabbing or handling of a spectator.


The Single Member Tribunal will sit at 1pm AEDT on Friday.


Melbourne player Shea Ili has been charged with engaging in a melee, resulting in a $775 fine or a $585 fine with an early plea.


Melbourne assistant coach David Barlow has been charged with bench clearing during a fight. This incident incurs a $775 fine or a $585 fine with an early plea

If a spectator is acting aggressively and racially vilifying you, I would say the grabbing and handling was either extremely appropriate, or inappropriate in that it wasn't forceful enough.

If Trez and Davis get OTT punishments I hope they just walk away. Would kill our season but it'll hurt the league more so they'd be cutting their nose to spite their face

The NBL does so much well but they can't quite get to a point of being an equal national comp can they? Just have to favour Melb and Sydney no matter what

The spectator is probably lucky Griscti was the closest to Davis and held him back. Had Davis and trezz been shoulder to shoulder KD was likely going to be all over the grey hoodied tosser - he was going much more wild than Harrell.

The NBL statement makes it clear this is solely to do with the players and coaches, and fan behaviour is still being investigated.

Expect it will just be a ban for the ticket holders and thats it. Which will be piss weak if thats the case.

In an article I read, one of the free to air tv's had a rep there and the NBL owner was shmoozing them for the next rights deal.

They might like the scandal, but they would not like the allegations of racist and homophobic abuse.

And then the relationship with the NBA might be torn up if the NBL are seen to not take this seriously.

via the club -

Over the past week the Adelaide 36ers have focused on supporting Kendric Davis and Montrezl Harrell, both practically and emotionally, in relation to the charges against them at Monday’s Tribunal hearing.

The Club has retained highly experienced counsel, James McLeod, to represent both players. James has extensive experience in sports law, including in relation to racially based, derogatory or offensive language issues.

The Club and the players will not make any further comment until the conclusion of this process.
