They made a fist and gave it to the Hawks. That's the spirit of pride round.

Nice work, snakes.

Stuns me every time I tune in to play games here. There are schools in Melbourne with bigger, better basketball courts/gymnasiums than this.

Might've gone if it had've been at the tennis centre (obviously it would've needed to be a different weekend), but I've never even checked to see whether you can get to this joint on the train.

Holds close to 4,000 with the renovations, but like most government projects it was probably scaled back from initial plans.

No trains nearby, probably serviced by a bus from somewhere on Glen Waverley line if you’re lucky.

I never profess to be much of an expert of in basketball, I generally just watch the Jackies and move on with my weekend.

So with all that said, I don't have a ****ing clue what happened after the first quarter of this match, especially for a defense first team.

I do know that 5 short white guys on the court at the end of the match is usually a really bad sign!

Despite it's name, the location and lack of PT surely suggests that Wantirna was never supposed to be a professional team's stadium, I think if that were the case they would've consolidated the Netball & Hockey centre a lot more centrally.

We've never been great at rationalising venues though I guess (AFL notwithstanding). Decided to give up on the Commonwealth Games cos we didn't want to build venues in regional Victoria, when all the infrastructure to hold it pretty much already exists in Melbourne.

Don’t get me started on the Comm Games!!! But it was a great idea to finally put some infrastructure in Regional Victoria. As it stands the places with lots of courts get plenty of big local tournaments with teams travelling from all over, great for local tourism.

But the SBC was built as a major basketball venue for local competitions but was upgraded a couple of years ago to expand to something like 18 courts and increased capacity of the show court. Tonight I believe there’s a big competition using the venue as well as the NBL game.

Selfishly I’d love all Phoenix games there, took me 10 minutes to drive there on Wednesday! But when I suggested that to the Phoenix staff it was pointed out how capacity is well below current membership levels and the funding was cut for the show court by the government because of Covid.

But the venue is also the home base and training venue for the club, so playing games there makes sense for them.

First time visit for me yesterday. Went to the wrong building at first and it was packed with juniors playing. Cool to watch in a smaller arena but obviously it’s only viable when the tennis is on.

Was out so only saw last few mins but did the commentators touch on the mvp race?

A few weeks ago KD was not in the hunt because his team was going to finish 9th-10th.

Plenty of talk about it.
I think everyone agrees he is now right at the business end of the MVP conversation.

A nice MVP chant going round the Ent Cent when Davis was at the free throw line

Still think Cotton gets it though

A pretty sloppy second half

Still. 6th is ours to lose now.
