After three years, he still cant read a ball off the pack or get into the right position to crumb.
That he found the ball a couple of times last night was a positive though
This is what dissapoints me most.

He is tiny, so you'd think his ground ball takes would be good if not very good to elite.

Nope, he is as good on the ground as a ruckman. There was an example last night where he was outside a pack and the ball was bouncing to him but he couldn't read the bounce and it trickled out of bounds.

He is not a forward. A genuine mid who is not quite good enough at AFL level.

He was good tonight.

That becomes the game he plays 3/4 rather than 1/20 all is forgiven
McHenry is better further up the ground, rather than close to goals. He is an accurate kick, except for goals.

I would like to add him to the midfield rotation.

Seems like he could do to tidy up his handballing. Sends the ball on a high trajectory rather than straight at his target, and often puts it above/below/left/right of the ideal spot for the teammate to receive it.

Too small and weak for the midfield, he would be bullied off the ball constantly. It's half forward or bust, and its looking like the latter.

You keep saying this but have no evidence.

Ned isn't weak in the contest!

You can say his kicking is poor, skill level wanting a bit, Kicking not good enough but he is as tough as nails in a contest and certainly not weak in a contest.

Nah, he was still pretty average.

Surprisingly, he found more of the ball than usual but this hurt us as his ball use was very poor. 62% efficiency and 7 turnovers from mostly handballs!

Granted, if Nicks wont drop him after 10 possession 0 goal games, he certainly won't after a 20 possession one.

It's easy to find stats in anyones game to support your bias. The 19 pressure acts, 5 tackles, 4 score involvements and 1 goal suggests a more than reasonable game :)

Went right through his legs.

I hope the Ned knocker’s can at least acknowledge his performance tonight xo

He played well, but equally, we likely have just entered the beginning of the end for McHenry as an AFL footballer with that game.

After all, we moved Keays to be that defensive forward and at least this week, he played that with aplomb in a win. That's Neds meal ticket!

Quite evasive in close and a good kick inside 50 for the AFL level.
But Rachele is better and Murphy is performing.

We can't play all of Sog, Rachele, McHenry and McHenry in the sane team.

Well we can, but shouldn't.

By weak in the contest, I don't mean soft. He is just tiny with no strength.

Weirdly I think his kicking (not for goal) is pretty good.

How about minimal CBA's all year as evidence?

The coaches gave Soligo (1st year), Berry (2nd year) and Schoenberg (3rd year) plenty of CB attendances last night but Ned had zero in his fourth year on a list. Plenty of time to build strength and muscle and work his way into the mix.

You wouldn't make a good lawyer... if you call that evidence!

If his main strength was/is endurance then the role needs to suit.

The only role I see is the high half forward and he needs to be able to run his opponent into the ground.

Can't help but think he is playing injured and quite restricted.
