PRESS RELEASE

Adelaide head coach True Blue Sainter has stunned a media conference by announcing that "every player has his price". When quizzed further, he proceeded to state that. "although everyone is tradeable, the deal must be favourable for both parties involved. Obviously blokes like Scotty Thompson, Bernie Vince, Kurt Tippett and the twin towers down back are virtually untradeable, with the operative word being virtually. The deal would have to be super".

Adelaide have signalled their intentions to be major players in trade week already; following the acquisition of livewire forward Eddie Betts, reliable utility Andrew Carrazzo and the dashing wingman Kade Simpson. However, the list revamping will not stop there, TBS claiming that, "I'm after quality in all the right positions. A leading ruckman is one such player I'm after, in the mould of say, a Cox, McIntosh, Ryder or Clark. Additionally, a power forward and a medium-tall option up forward like a ROK would complement our structure. Also, you can never have enough quality midfielders".

It is likely that TBS' comments will be well-received by Adelaide fans. A supporter spokesman seemed please with the coach's comments, and told a journalist that, "the fans are delighted with TBS' words. We've taken his statements as a genuine sign of ambition from the club. It demonstrates that we're not happy with 5th, and really want to progress further. As a supporter group, we are in agreement with the positions TBS has highlighted as our weaknesses. We are eagerly anticipating any further moves. Although we are sad to see Paddy & Tex move, we are happy with their replacements."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, I'm after:

* A tall CHF
* A "3rd tall" option, in the ROK mould
* A genuine ruckman

Richmond and Essendon have both opened their accounts this trade period with their first trade being finalised.

The trade see's Richmond leaders Matthew Richardson, Nathan Brown and Kelvin Moore heading to Windy Hill, while speedster Jason Winderlich heads to Punt Rd along with picks 42 and 74.

Interested in Patty Ryder and or Micheal Hurly

are they up for trade?

With what players?

Butcher, Scully... etc. I've followed the youngsters enough that I could probably go three rounds into a draft and still list players.

Even better, you could find a list of the top 60 players or something like that likely to be taken in the draft, and we could draft from that.

That's true, but I was trading based on the notion that draft picks were of some significance. This way, they don't seem to be doing much but replacing depth players, whereas drafting properly could see a first round pick find his way into the main team.

Either way I guess I'm fine.
