My much loved local club has merged with another club to become the Eastern Ranges Football Club.

As everyone knows with a new club comes the need for a new nickname, logo & guernsey.
So the new club wants to hear what ideas the Big Footy graphic design group has to help this club get started.

Here is a quick run down of what the club are after;
1. Club colors are royal blue & white (North Melbourne colors)

2. Club nickname - Club looking for unique nickname moving away from the animals.
Can be anything except Bombers, Rams, Tigers, Magpies, Cats, Demons, Kangaroos, Hawks, Bulldogs..... Basically most of the AFL nicknames.

3. Guernsey - Club looking for all types of designs eg Old style V or New graphic looking guernsey.
Looking forward to everyones ideas

Happy to answer any questions & look forward to seeing everyones ideas.

Good luck & have fun

Unless there's some sort of royal distinction then the name doesn't really mean much imo. It sounds good, but is there some sort of relation to the club?

Well, he did say a unique name, moving away from animals. You have a point though. I've already made a guernsey anyway.

Can we get some more info, such as:

Previous teams names,
Location of new club,
Clubs histories (if possible)
Previous guernsey designs

No problems
Previous clubs; Cleve Bombers -Essendon guernsey, Rudall Rams - eagles away guernsey in Adelaide Crows colors
Club is located in Cleve SA - big mountain range to the east of town hence Eastern Ranges.

At the moment club looking at having a monograme like Carlton.

Hope enough information for everyone!

If I knew you were looking for a monogram before, I would've made one earlier. I'll get on it now.

Here is my first thought (might try a few other things if I get the time).

Presenting the Eastern Ranges Football Club (No nickname as the club name works without one)

Here is a quick monogram I threw together:

The design is a recolour of my Sydney Rangers design and though you only mentioned 2 colours I left the light blue to contrast the darker blue and also to represent the sky.

At the top of the back of the jumperit reads 'CB-RR', meaning the two former clubs; Cleve Bombers and Rudall Rams.

Cheers Cory for the template :thumbsu:

The monogram needs work, just looks unbalanced.

The guernsey on the other hand is very nice.

FTG in my local comp use a similar jumper to this, thought i would add the red to the number to incorporate the colours of both clubs and CBRRFC to remember the history of the old clubs.

*used your monogram crargus hope you don't mind

Had a burst of creativity after reading this post. Here's what I came up with.

Eastern Ranges Football Club
"The Rangers"

I would keep the official name of the club to ERFC, and then have Rangers be the nickname. I think it is the natural choice since Ranges is in the name of the club, keeps it tied in to the area.

Monogram/Ligature:

Stuck with just ER, felt like the FC would have been a bit superfluous made it too complicated with this design.

I took the liberty of adding charcoal as a third color to the color scheme. I wanted to keep it simple. That's the way that AFL teams have been moving (ex: Port and Freo), and I think simple and classic sort of designs stand the test of time much better. While you obviously don't need the AFL logo on there (yet!) I figured I'd keep it just as a placeholder for a league badge or something along those lines.

Are you 100% set on the North color scheme? While I do like this jumper, I think it'd be fun to play around with some different color schemes, maybe come up with something unique to your club that isn't used in the AFL.

Hope you like it.

Really like the look of logo mate!! Simply but strong.

As for color scheme it is set. The "North Melb" colors are set because they dont clash with any other clubs & also none of those colors are part of the original 2 clubs.

Cool, glad you like it! I might try playing around with adding a badge/shield behind it, we'll see.

Gotcha about the color scheme, was just curious.

I hope you don't mind me using your monogram Whoopsy but it is so clean and professional looking I couldn't go past using it. The crest is from Fulham FC.
