Great get

Clarke has been at the Tigers since the end of 2016, starting as the development coach and also transitioning into the VFL role.

He’s now in charge of the forwards.

So he was there for all their flags.
Also interviewed for the Richmond job and missed out to Macqualter and Yze.

Yep. Clarke a great get. Need to get well credentialed development coaches.

Gavin Brown leaving was a bonus as well.

Pies must have someone worth a few extra bucks to get to Arden Street.
Starting now, we should be in Pendles ear to come across whenever he's ready to retire. I've heard him interviewed before saying he's interested in coaching and would want a change of scenery to get a different perspective. Is there a better person to learn from than Clarko? Imagine the impact he'd have on Wardlaw, Sheezel, Phillips, Powell, etc

I think he mentioned Clarko specifically. Which is why I was hoping he wouldn't go around again.

Retirement feels further away after the way he played yesterday - unless he decides he has achieved everything and wants to go our on top, he looks like he’s got at least another season playing in him.

His passion for the game will fall away before his physical capacity. If it stays fresh and interesting for him, one could see him playing another 2 more at least. He's an absolute freak.

The thing about Pendles is his durability and consistency might actually work against him and delay coaching opportunities. A bit like Goldy. Both have played the game for a long time, both have basketball backgrounds, both have been ultra-consistent and durable, both started at the same time and they've been elite players in their respective positions.

I'd have him as our midfield/development coach.
