New Full Forward

Lynch was sensational last year, and played a massive part in winning the flag. This year he hasn't kicked as many goals as we would like, but his contribution in the games has been excellent, apart from yesterday (and he wasn't on his pat malone then, as already stated).

No-one puts in more effort than the big Q, and it's disappointing to see these sort of comments on the back of one loss from supposed Eagles supporters.

Spot on:thumbsu:

We will hopefully resign Brad Smith, providing he stays fit all year.
I have another theory I have been playing with as well, which has been laughed at by most people. It has to do with a South Australian who is probably going to stay in WA by all accounts. The only thing is, he hasn't re-signed yet with his current club (as far as know that is). Is there any possibility he is waiting to see how his current club performs this year before he really decides. Maybe coming across town will get him a premiership or something.
Just a theory.;)

Haha, Pav won't be coming to the Eagles. Would be nice, but it won't happen.

you guys really do need a big full forward that can take a contested mark and kick satraight. lynch is the worst full forward atm. i knew scarlett would have a field day its like he was playing loose man. lycnh can only kick bags against dud teams 4 against carlton and richmond. i dont care what he did last year this is this year kent kingsley kicked over 50 goals in two seasons know look at him at richmond and one rates him. maybe brown is the answer it definatily aint lynch.

Lynch was used as a second ruckman and at times spent a long way from goals.
You and the rest of the Lynch bashers should all go and **** yourselves:thumbsdown:

some people seem to think that because he lines up at FF on paper, thats where he always plays. That couldnt be further from the truth. His goal tally has been down this season through, admittedly, poor conversion, but primarily because he has played substantial time at CHF

Some people aren't capable of reasoned and logical thought. Or in simpler terms, they are stupid.

These people tend to post 'Fev would kick 600 in Lynch's place' etc.

Pfft obvious troll post by the OP.

Lynchy had a bad game. C'est la vie.

There is always next week. It's not like we're on the bottom of the ladder or anything, it's just one game.

See ya in September .. if ya's make it.

Silly boy... Lynch can kick, he kicked some beauties against us.

Lynch and all our other players had crap games it has something to do with Skilled Stadium , don't be worried guys next week we'll come out punching and will hit back with a big win.:D

SO WE LOST TO THE APRIL / MAY PREMIERS.:p

Pffft.

Lynch is doing just fine.

Yes he hasnt got massive numbers in terms of goals scored but his general field play is quality.

Rucking is not his strength but with Cox out he has to do it. And "A" for effort I must say.

It wong be long (if Coxys back holds) before Lynchy will be dominating on the scoreboard.

I'm pretty pleased with what Lynch has done so far. Hasn't set the world on fire, but at least he's finding the footy, taking marks etc. so the goals will start rolling in soon enough for him.

Cant remember too many players in recent times who have kicked bags of goals against Scarlett at Skilled when their teams midfield is getting slaughtered and playing half in the ruck..... so lay off big Lynchy.

The big unit will bounce back, look at his second half of 06 - second in goals scored to Fevola if Im not mistaken.

You cant have a go at his effort - he plays his guts out!!

Lynch has been playing up the ground and its only inaccuracy letting him down. 12 goals in the finals series last year.

Talk again when you make a grand final. Better still - win one.

12 goals in a final series ? 3 goals in a GF?
Piss off

Piss off? No, I will not piss off. I'm entitled to my opinion, there is no need to act in such a childish manner just because someone has a different opinion to yours. Bigots such as yourself ruin forums like this.

As I said, I'm not a fan of Lynch at all and to be frank I cringe when I see the ball kicked towards him every week. When he takes a mark my jaw drops in astonishment.

I think you're in a time-warp. He's been marking well for a long time now.

Add to that, as others have said, he's honest, hard-working and totally a team player. He's good value.

Oh pish posh.

I don't think anyone doubted Edwards talent. It was his discipline that was a problem. Which is probably why no other club wanted to touch him after being de-listed. Full marks to the Roos for taking a chance on him, but it took a full year in the VFL for him to turn a corner. So I don't think the Eagles can be criticised too heavily for delisting him.

I really hate it when opposition supporters make stupid claims like "Fevola would kick 120+ goals with your midfield". Yeah? Great. Except Fevola has never been an option for the Eagles. Lynch is our forward because he's the best we've got from what was available. In recent years, there's only been two possible forwards on the table... Thompson and Tarrant. Thompson had publicly admitted to suffering from depression and would have been an iffy pick-up. And Tarrant had discipline problems.

Anyway, Lynch pushes up the ground a fair bit these days. And he's pretty good at it too. I like him at CHF.

Adding to that, we did go for Tarrant, but Collingwood didn't accept our offer. I'm glad in the end we didn't get him, we would have missed out on Brown if we did.

About 4 or 5 years ago Carlton wanted a straight swap, Gardiner for Fevola. I really wanted that trade and i know hindsight is a great thing but..............
