Honestly, your new logo and jumpers look awesome, I can't see what the big deal is!
Your new Lion looks mean and fierce, unlike our 'Sonic the Hedgehog' Crow!

Have you read the diatribe on the website:

Rubbish

Of these 333, only 214 were current members from our 2009 total of 26,324 which represents just 0.8%.

What BS...hardly equates to kids/oldies or people without the web.

And further to the crap posted:

Just as the Football Dept assessed their eventual 6th ladder position, we as a Club cannot be satisfied with our 16th, 15th, 5th or 6th. These are the harsh facts behind the evolution of our Lions logo and creating a clear link between it and our home and away guernseys for 2010 and beyond.

So a pathetic looking jumper will change that...the club really needs to take the hand off it. If they were serious, why not present say 4 options to the members and let us decide...but no they came up with:

How f...ing embarrassing...that does NOT look fierce, it looks absolutely stupid and the lion looks that constipated that it is looking around to see if anyone is looking before it takes one hell of a dump.

Go on Bowers/Kelly and any other lacky at the club...keep on feeding us more crap. You are responsible to ensure our membership etc doesn't fall behind. If you put that much effort into those other issues than coming up with a pathetic jumper, maybe those numbers wouldn't be so bad.

haha Browny looks embarraced to be wearing it in the photo..
I loved the old jumper, this new one is very average, worse then some of the jumpers Port and Freo have worn lol

that jumper is appauling. the lion is humongous. way too dominating, it ruins the entire essence of the design

the lion logo on it's own is even worse. The head doesn't match the body, looks like someone has gone and stickytaped the paddlepop lion head onto the fitzroy lion circa 1960s.

shocking. absimal. really feel for all you guys that have to put up with this descretion of a great footy jumper:thumbsdown:

I'm a Pies supporter but as as football lover this is a disgraceful change by the Lions. Why change what i consider one of the best jumpers in the AFL?

I thought Browny could look intimidating in anything but my first reaction to seeing him in this photo was to laugh. Instead of looking tough, you now look cuddly

And you thought iSnack 2.0 was a bad move...

When they say "modernised to better suit today's competitive marketplace" I think they actually mean, "we were told to bugger-up the jumper so people would consider supporting the Gold Coast team".

It's the only possible explanation for such a stupid jumper ;)

It could have been A LOT worse though, you have to admit that.

I still feel for you guys though. It's one thing changing a clash/away jumper, but changing a back-to-back-to-back premiership jumper is another thing altogether.

Its horrid! I hate it.

I cant believe that the club would do such a thing. It just really stinks.

Have to say when looking at the jumper pictures i didnt mind it until i saw it on the players. The lion is just too big and if anyone thinks it looks tough they are kidding themselves. While it may become accepted expect the fitzroy contingent to tear up their memberships, real big kick in the teeth to our melbourne supports i reckon. Time for a change at board level methinks.

I'd really like to hear a compelling argument on how this redesign is likely to result in a net increase in members.

Bowers saying that it is "based on professional research and logical thinking" just didn't do it for me.

My F***ing eyes hurt.

GC membership here I come. :p

Way too big, I agree. A good guernsey compliments the player not over rides the player.

I would say that I think at least half of the Victorian based members wont be resigning.

I have already called the club stating that my membership dollars will be going to Fitzroy this year.

I never thought I would do such a thing, but Im just so angry. Maybe when I have calmed down I may re-think my decision, but I highly doubt it.

The Gold Coast's biggest hurdle was competing with the brand recognition of the lions jumper. That jumper defined AFL in Qld.

The GCFC must be over the moon with today's launch...

Absolutely 100% Agree.

Old Jumper is 'brand recognition'. New Jumper is 'brand suicide'.

The jumper isn't too bad in my opinion however it just doesn't feel right. Also Browny, Blacky, Rog, Jeddaa and Lukey's smiles aren't to real imo! Get a life Bowers. I wouldn't stop supporting the Lions though and I rekon we should all stick with Brissy!

The guernsey in isolation? Reduce the Lion 30-40% and I actually reckon both designs would look pretty good. However, as it is, the home guernsey is dominated by the Lion and it is not a good look at all. Amateurish.

Considered given the context of the change? Abysmal. All power to you in your legal actions, guys.

:thumbsu:

I'm not a fan of your new jumper but really, isn't that a lot better than the blue piece of crap that got posted?

I understand the anger though, it didn't need to change and now it just looks too cartoony and aimed at kids.

As a jumper it doesn't look too bad, better than what you guys were leading me to believe and light years ahead of your white monstrosity.

As an alteration to the Lion logo it is unnecessary and disappointing. It's high time that Michael Bowers got shown up for the tool he is.

I'm somewhat of a traditionalist, and as such I'm not in favour of your new Guernsey. If I were a former Fitzroy supporter I'd be livid.

Having said that, I was not in favour of our clubs change in design (still aren't really) but the ill feeling wears off, and the refusal to buy the newly branded products says more about your long term loyalties to the club.

I feel your pain and share your anger.
