I'd say it was a rushed job, too, but given the history of photoshop fails on here, I'm more inclined to say it's just a work experience student doing their best...

Brisbane training jumper. They're still really pushing the paddle pop on everything other than the playing jumpers.

It's the club logo... which FWIW most Lions supporters don't have an issue with, they just should've never changed our original jumper.

I actually like it as a logo but the 'paddlepop lion' itself was an abomination, although I'd much prefer we use the -BBFFC- one as our official logo.

Anyway, it's a training jumper they can do what they like. Which clearly they have :drunk:

Hawthorn apparently introducing an anthem jacket into their apparel set. Too 'Soccerish', unnecessary in the Australian climate & basically a new way to turnover money through merchandising.

But hey, we play 3 finals per year, a Round 1 match and take part in the Anzac round. So it will get some exposure.

You'd also be running out in it each week then wouldn't you?

What do you mean by anthem jacket?

It's also called a presentation jacket, basically worn as teams walk out and then sing the anthems (for international soccer/football matches, as well as rugby). This shows both teams in anthem jackets (England are shown at the end of the vid).

The tripanel is an abomination on any template.

Imagine if 15 years ago, Richmond ditched the sash for a tripanel equivalent, introducing white and everything.

How angry would you still be to this day?
I don't care, our club is essentially a corporation just like 711 or McDonalds, not some ancient suburban club that was around in the 1800s, we need to occasionally rebrand stuff to stay financially ahead of the competitors. Seriously what is so bad about the tripanel shirt? i've read a lot of posts trashing it but with little justification. I like it, i mean it doesn't look that stupid or anything, perhaps just a little "bold"/"innovative" or something (the old variation with that awful drawing of an eagle was appalling though).

Yikes.

I can't believe anyone thinks about their footy club like this.

Anyway, what's wrong with the tripanel is that it's not the significantly more popular wings design, it's a very boring design, and it's the most clash causing design in the league.

West Coast were the best branded team in the league pre tripanel. They are presently bottom 3rd

it's the most clash causing design in the league.
This is only true dependent on the other jumpers in the league, and the clash guernseys other clubs create to try and wear against it.
It's still pretty simple to not clash against the tri-panel - you can't wear navy or anything close (black, brown, maroon) or yellow/gold/orange.

I don't like the TP either but it's not like the jumper has a major part of it in every colour in the rainbow.

Gotcha!

Arm2Leg How would they be any different to these beauties?

Thanks for your input.

a) overemphasis of a colour that is not blue or gold.

but more importantly

b) there's a much better design out there. One that is unmistakeably ours and that carries historical significance for the club. That's what a home jumper should be.

In my book, it would be OK as a clash strip (say with a solid white or gold back) but as a home jumper it leaves a lot to be desired.
