I can't believe we've gone from one front sponsor and one back sponsor to two front sponsors and two back sponsors in the space of a few short years. Thanks covid. Thanks Obama. Thanks Dan Andrews.
I'm not even talking about sponsors actually just more the quality and attention to detail sort of stuff in jumpers has fallen off a cliff recently. It's no longer a craft and to be fair it hasn't been for the last decade but now they aren't even pretending to give a stuff

Sponsorship plastering is still a creeping issue though, im not sure what you'd get from downplaying that.

I'm not downplaying it, I can see how my post might come off as sarcastic but it isn't. The added sponsor logos look f**ken shithouse and I've lost all interest in collecting modern guernseys. One sponsor badge front and back was a good compromise between design and commercialism, but these added logos make us look like the amatuer-hour NRL.

You'd think a financial powerhouse club like the Eagles might even forgo sullying the guernsey with more logos for the sake of aesthetics but nope - gotta squeeze every last dollar you can, no matter how profitable you are.

I would say that the agreement that NB has with clubs is financially lucrative (and the reason why NB has so many contracts) is because they allow that extra sponsor spot. I don't think any other kit maker is currently doing that specifically, so it seems a no-brainer for clubs when finances are tight.

I guess clubs are doing what matters, and that is unlocking new revenue streams.

Different kind of sponsorship.

It's the equivalent of Piping Hot for the Saints way back when. It was done in the guise that a clothing company created those guernseys. Could you be convinced that Maccas manufactures guernseys?

...And while the cheap answer is "Yes, look at Gold Coast's colours", you can safely say no.

Oh yeah my bad picked up the wrong tone there but you're absolutely right

I think you’re right. Even in the last couple of years there’s been a noticeable decline in the quality of product being made by manufacturers. I would say that I reckon puma is the exception here - they’re still making quality kits from both a visual perspective and how well they’re being physically made.

God I hope the swans and pies don’t give away the opportunity to keep the famous Nike tick on the front of their jumpers. Two power house clubs with the biggest brand of all I wouldn’t of thought so

You’d think (and hope) that a brand like Nike would want their logo to be front and centre. Can’t imagine they’d want to get rid of it.
