Hi all, a bit of good news in the current environment.

We have created Callums_Guns as a Community Leader on the GWS Board in recognition of the great work that he's been doing and hopefully will do going forward after this current crisis is over. He's got a shiny new title under his name plate, but not a lot more power so don't throw rocks at him - he's not a mod.

Congratulations Callums_Guns. If anyone has any thoughts on things - both in the current environment or after it's all over, feel free to discuss with him either via PM or throw thoughts into this thread for discussion.

So what exactly is a “community leader” as opposed to a moderator?

Don’t get me wrong, not complaining - congrats to Callums on the “promotion” just curious as to what it is.

Fair question. Here's the description from the head shed:

Ultimately we want to help grow the board to a healthy level of participation and encourage the new lurkers to post, contribute, give ideas and help organise things across the board. You may have seen a new tag up and about as a community leader type role who can help facilitate the discussion, promote and build the board but not at a moderator level. Ultimately through their behaviour and participation they can move on to becoming a board moderator or stick to the role as a community leader. Is this something that you guys feel could help boost the Giants board?. The feedback so far (on a non footy board as a first test) has been positive and regular posters have improved their interaction based on a lesser feeling of us vs them (posters v moderator) improving the overall harmony.
