I am going to take a punt on Jack Bissett

Had to transfer from Richmond to captain coach South...Bissett may qualify as a famous surname re Jacqueline Bissett

Hopefully an easier question (yes its been amended because i got it wrong..so very wrong...what can I say...Old Timers is settling in)

I carried the No 17 guernsey in the 1980s

I share my name with another australian sportsman (not aussie rules).....who is just as famous for his on and off field pursuits

Extra Hint

Those off-field pursuits saw me as the first(?) high profile rugby player to out myself

I'm the only swans coach to coach to a nationa team in Australian Football. Name him and the country.

Oh... crap! I was thinking of an Aussie team, of course, and I think Barass coached one in the 60s.

It's Roos, of course. Coached the USA Revolution in 1999 or something. Are you sure he's the only one?

Not 100% sure about Barras!
But i know about Roos as i was the coach of the Canadian team. Still am actually. It has been said that it was i that helped launched Roos coaching career by allowing him to win that match and get a taste for sucess early. :D

Someone has to be the first one to take a guess....just to get the ball rolling

I am guessing Bill Faul, B&F 1932, played in the 1933 GF, came back and coached 1961 and 1962

I assume he was from WA and part of the Foreign Legion

He was recently recognised by being named HBF in the Team of the Century

Yup.

I have to make them a little cryptic or they become too easy! ;)

Who am I?

I played for the club in the South Melbourne days, never achieving the heights of my brother (though I was taller) who won B&Fs and Team Of the Century

The only thing we had in common was our red hair
