Gut feel is they'll stick with Daboll, but look to hire a offensive playcaller so he doesn't have that burden. I'm not even sure what Kafka's role is anymore. So is Daboll safe?
I think Schoen is but does he throw his mate under the buss to be seen to be doing something?
There could be 11 head coach changes this year? Do we jump now so we dont get left behind in the search?
New coach and new QB is a sign of fresh hope for the fanbase.
Giants GM should've been fired before the Jets GM was....
Let McKinney (7 INTs) and Barkley (1,000+ yards) walk....meanwhile Giants D 10 straight games without an INT and offensive woes. Plus, gave Daniel Jones a huge contract only to release him a couple years later.
They just didnt want to pay Barkley. Of course Barkley would have made that offense much better and made Jones look better having to manage a game more. Probably just didnt want to pay McKinney either. Both of them are both doing aswell as they are cause there on much better teams talent wise. Giants were both right in letting them both walk. Add them both to current giants rosters and might have 1 win more that's it. Better to get games into youngsters and keep losing to get high enough to grab franchise QB.

They would not have said let Barkley walk so we are shot on offense and lose games to tank for the #1 pick. No org, bar the Colts, would do that...coaches and GMs are trying to win so they keep their jobs

If Daboll and Schoen manage to stick around think drafting Sanders would be career suicide. You just know Deion is gonna have a cry and say he could do a better job. Fields over Darnold? Doubt youre getting Fields for that price if hes going to be the starter. It would be a 20m contract at least id think. Can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I'd be trading down in this draft, no matter what pick we end up with. I'm not sold on either of the top 2 QB's and I think you can get a Justin Fields for $4M which is less than what you'd be paying a #1 or #2 pick. Trade down and try to get a couple of OL's and maybe a DL in FA, prehaps take a flier on a second round QB like Milroe if he makes it there, Beck or Ewers then wait and see.
But if we do decide to draft one of either Ward or Sanders, I'd be avoiding Sanders like the plague.
Fields is on $3.5M at the Steelers I believe. But yeah, it might be a bit more if he was starter. But $20M? Thats still his rookie contract, it runs out this year. Starting QBs who sign 2-3 year deals which is what would happen with Fields go for at least 20m PA. Unless youre paying him as a bridge over 1-2 years and even then thats 12m to 15m. Minshew's contract with the Raiders for example was in that ball park I believe.Fields is on $3.5M at the Steelers I believe. But yeah, it might be a bit more if he was starter. But $20M? I've seen this argument a lot and it's one that looks solid with the benefit of hindsight. But after making playoffs that year, a quiet QB FA market and an owner who saw Jones as the next Eli... most GM's are going to make the same decision, whether they're one year in or 10. I don't really undersatnd contract mechanics, so the structure of it maybe...Seems ridiculous given Schoen saddled Daboll with Daniel Jones as his QB after giving him a bad contract. If one is out both should be out.
How do you rate the top 2 qbs this year? Was it a massive f up to win last week?I've seen this argument a lot and it's one that looks solid with the benefit of hindsight. Looks like we'll either be drafting Travis Hunter or trading back. Either way, we'll be likely looking to trade or sign a QB rather than draft one.
It was, but you'll never convince players or HC's (especially those with their jobs in question (which is pretty much any of them in the position to tank) to tank and I think management did everything they could by benching injured players. People criticising the organisation for that are way off the mark. How do you rate the top 2 qbs this year? Was it a massive f up to win last week?

I've watched a lot more college ball this year and while I don't think think Ward is quite where Daniels was last year, but he's not far off he's advanced a long wat this year and like Daniels last year the draft pundits are a little late catching up. He'll almost certainly go at pick 1.
Sanders is interesting. I've found it hard to assess him, but I think he's an old-style pocket passer QB so he's going to need a solid OL to play behind. That said, Colorado's OL is ordinary, so there can be an argument made that he's by far outperforming what he should be. And between he and Hunter, they've lifted Colorado from a 4-8 team to 9-4. But he hasn't shown great mobility. Then there's the whole Sanders family circus to deal with with dad Deion and older brother Shilo. I wouldn't be tearing down the house if we drafted him, but it also go horribly wrong.
Of the second-tier QB's I really like Will Howard from Ohio State. He's played against some of the best defences and is standing up in the back half of the season. He was very good against Oregon on the weekend. If he stands up against Texas he'll get talked about a bit more. If we drafted him in the 3rd I'd be very happy, but I think he'll go before that.
If we got Hunter I'd be thrilled though. He's at least the second-best CB in the draft and will still be able to play (limited) snaps as a WR. Freak of an athlete and by all accounts a good dude.
