Happy with Dowling. We had a long look at Keeler and chose not to take him.

Keeler was there as a NGA and Adelaide passed on him and was drafted after Pick 40. We chose a midfielder rather Key Forward/Ruck.
Surprising a journo has gone to a team training and written a bunch of positive things about no name players/ new rookies….
We didn’t rate Keeler - at all - and chose not to pick him. If we got it wrong we’ll so be it - but David King saying there is something there from watching training for an hour isn’t something we should worry about

SAINT's track watchers are disputing this point ......one training session ....most are saying Max Heath is still quite a ways off being readyFrom SEN with David King visiting St Kilda Training appeared 12 Jan 24

Always looks good with his skills , it’s the competing in games which has always been a question markSurprising a journo has gone to a team training and written a bunch of positive things about no name players/ new rookies….

My guesses...Anyone know who each son is in the picture.
- Mitchell Stevens – (Son of AFC Premiership Player Mark) – Gippsland Power/Vic Country
- Eddie Goodwin – (Son of AFC Premiership Player and former Club Captain Simon) – Ashburton FC
- Caleb Tregenza – (Son of Inaugural AFC Team Simon) – Glenelg FC
- Nick Ricciuto (Son of AFC Premiership Player and former Club Captain Mark) – Sturt FC
- Jack Rutten (Son of 200 game for AFC and Life Member Ben) – Gisborne Rookies FC
- Will Stevens - (Son of AFC Premiership Player Mark) – Heyfield FC
Crows welcome sons of greats to West Lakes
Six Crows Father/Son prospects are shadowing the squad this week

Adelaide has welcomed some of its most famous names back to West Lakes this week as part of its Crows Academies Father/Son program.
The sons of five Crows greats - Mark Ricciuto, Simon Goodwin, Ben Rutten, Simon Tregenza and Mark Stevens - have shadowed the AFL squad, getting their first taste of life as a professional footballer.
Some of the youngsters have travelled far and wide to be involved in the program, with the Stevens brothers (Mitchell and Will) coming from Gippsland, Victoria, and Eddie Goodwin and Jack Rutten coming from Melbourne.
Crows Academies manager Jarrod Meers said this activation highlighted the significance the Club put on its Father/Son program.
“Many would have seen over recent times that we have placed a significant focus on bolstering strong Father-Son tradition and Crow Academies activations,” Meers said.
“We see this as an extremely important part of the Adelaide Football Club and the continuation of building the history of the Crows.”
This group of Father/Son prospects follows a successful period in the blossoming program, which helped Max Michalanney be drafted to the Club and Tyler Welsh be signed as a SANFL player in his draft year.
Meers said it was exciting to see the development of the program.
“To date we have had three Crows Father/Sons in the history of the Club,” Meers said.
“Assisting to accelerate player development and help educate and advance our Father Sons is a wonderful way for us to support them on their football pathway wherever and whatever level they finish playing at.”
The list of boys attending the Club this week, in age order, is as follows:
- Mitchell Stevens – (Son of AFC Premiership Player Mark) – Gippsland Power/Vic Country
- Eddie Goodwin – (Son of AFC Premiership Player and former Club Captain Simon) – Ashburton FC
- Caleb Tregenza – (Son of Inaugural AFC Team Simon) – Glenelg FC
- Nick Ricciuto (Son of AFC Premiership Player and former Club Captain Mark) – Sturt FC
- Jack Rutten (Son of 200 game for AFC and Life Member Ben) – Gisborne Rookies FC
- Will Stevens - (Son of AFC Premiership Player Mark) – Heyfield FC
I think you are spot on.My guesses...
9 - Will Stevens (the article says he's the youngest)
17 - Mitchell Stevens (based on similarity of appearance to Will)
36 - Eddie Goodwin (wearing his Dad's old number)
... and the rest, based purely on physical resemblance
21 - Caleb Tregenza
Back Centre - Jack Rutten
Back Right - Nick Ricciuto
I'm fairly confident about the front row, not so much the back row.
Would be handy if they said when they are eligibleAnyone know who each son is in the picture.

Would be handy if they said when they are eligible
Some of the early F/S years could be off by a year. The AFL changed the minimum draft eligibility date in 2009. Previously, kids had to be born prior to 1st October to be eligible for drafting - that was changed to 1st January. This affected kids born in the Oct-Dec window, who had their draft eligibility pushed back by a year.So according to Vader's list List Mgmt. - Father/Son Eligible Kids List
Eddie Goodwin - 2024
Mitch Stevens - 2024
Caleb Tregenza - 2024
Jack Rutten - 2025
Nick Ricciuto - 2025
Will Stevens - 2026
However I think a few of those dates might be off. Tregenza for example is listed as only 15 in this article Caleb Tregenza, son of Simon, among talented youngsters in NGA program which suggests he isn't draft eligible until at least 2025
Mitch Stevens and Eddie Goodwin are only turning 17 this year so neither are eligible until 2025 as well
Jack Rutten and Nick Ricciuto played U15s last year so won't be eligible until 2026
He's already on the list - eligible for the 2028 draft. He's just not in the photo which prompted the current discussion. There's another Rutten in the pipeline too Bernie Rutten.
I think they deliberately tone that down so that the pressure on them is a bit lower.Would be handy if they said when they are eligible
And I suppose you already knew he was actually showing promise on the football field?
That sounds like a yes.Nope but it is relevant that Bernie Rutten is already showing plenty of promise both on the football field and the basketball court.
Eddie is young looking 16 year oldSo according to Vader's list List Mgmt. - Father/Son Eligible Kids List
