He plays like ten minutes a game

He averaged the highest amount of SC points out of any ruckman.
JacobsHe is so far over-rated it is ridiculous. Still can't believe he got AA over Jacobs. Even more laughable were the reports of a $5m/5 year contract pre-season. Does some great things very occasionally but for the remainder of the time he is very average and doesn't impact the game at all.
Maybe he can join Melbourne and pick 1 and 2 can play together. I imagine at that point the universe would implode on itself.
Not until he gets those millions comrade. And a terrible bloke, probably.
Jacobs
Hit outs: 30.96
Clearances: 1.50
Tackles: 1.42
Marks: 4.08
Contested marks: 0.88
Disposals: 13.38
Goals: 0.29
Naitanui
Hit outs: 24.68
Clearances: 2.91
Tackles: 3.41
Marks: 3.00
Contested marks: 2.05
Disposals: 13.05
Goals: 1.09
Naitanui was better than Jacobs in 2012.
Naitanui gets massively underrated around here (perhaps overrated in the media, but massively underrated on BigFooty). He's a gun footballer who's been in poor form due to injuries.
Jacobs averaged more hitouts, marks and disposals. Not sure how you conclude from this that Natanui had a better year
Because he was better up forward and in the packs. I'd sacrifice those several hit outs for the extra goal, clearances, and tackles. The difference in disposals is negligible and Naitanui's contested marking was still much better.Jacobs averaged more hitouts, marks and disposals. In 2012, Naitanui was...
2nd in hitout win % (no surprises behind Sandi)
1st in hitout to advantage %
1st in clearance percentage for ruckmen
2nd in overall clearances for ruckmen (one behind Maric, expected because Maric plays much more in the middle)
1st in contested possessions for ruckmen (more than Judd, Bartel, Black and Deledio in fact)
1st in contested marks for ruckmen (45 followed by Cox with 38 and Maric with 30)
2nd in goals (behind Cox, finishing with 24 compared to Maric and Jacobs with 7 each)
1st in pressure acts for ruckmen
1st in champion data points for all ruckmen (13th best average in the AFL, I believe)
1st in coaches votes for all ruckmen
Well according to Mark Ricciuto, Naitanui, unlike every other player in the AFL doesn't get judged by statsDo we get seduced by his ability to do the freakish things too much? For the hype he generates, the cold hard statistics are damning.

If you took the time to read carefully, I said it in response to being accused of starting this thread out of resentment at Nic's after the siren goal against us last year. I was tring to stress the point that it is not about that at all, I actually would like to see him dominate a gameSo .... are you saying your judgement based on 2014 is .... really?
Hahahaha.
Sooooo you HAVE only watched 2013/14 games. If you took the time to read carefully, I said it in response to being accused of starting this thread out of resentment at Nic's after the siren goal against us last year. We know, Melbourne took that absolute spud Jack Watts over AA ruckman Naitanui, get over it.And a terrible bloke, probably.
