Really? Jones had 12 touches but 0 score involvements in 3 quarters. So he wasn't exactly doing much offensively.

Meanwhile his opponent had 25 touches, 2 goals, 2 goal assists, 7 score involvements and 9 coaches votes and his quietest quarter was once Jones went off. So he got smashed defensively. Hard to see how Jones played well.
Played more defensively than offensively. 4 spoils, 4 intercept marks, went back and covered well. Dempsey had a great game. Jones still played well. Guys like Perkins, Menzie, Goldstein and Draper had bad games.

Really?

Does he have the agility to play on a medium tall/HFF?

Worth persisting for another contract imo but still think he's only 50/50 to be a decent player.

He’s always looked much more comfortable behind the ball. Don’t really see his athleticism/agility as a worry would maybe even have it as a strength.

Thought he was pretty reasonable run of form until the tigers game as the wing isn’t really a high possession position for us this year.

His biggest issue is his inconsistent ball use by hand and foot.

Apparently he has the most turnovers by foot this year at like 15% a game? Sounds like he was only picked for his height and mobility. Perfect Dodoro type pick. I heard dons fans at the time were blasting him for those 3. Especially Perkins. Haven't watched enough to see how they progressed but last night Jones only looked good for like the first quarter.
Actually, he was a top level kick at U18 level and previously using it well was a strength. Not sure what has happened this year.

We seemed to prioritise good kicking in that draft.

He’s over 200cm, talks take longer. He has also missed big chunks of the last two years injured. As he gets a bigger body and more miles in the legs I think he’ll be a good, and maybe more than good, player. Has played most games for us this year so between that and the upside is certainly not surplus to needs.

Think you mean reid as he was part of the draft haul not jones. Of the 3 reid looks the best but of course has been one hurt the most. Perkins will play 150 games for the dons so not really a failure just he is a C grader maybe B if it clicks.

Cox looks to me like he will not make it, looks a link up player that doesn't have elite skills which will cost him big time. Be stunned if he is on a list in two years.
Nah I thought Jones was 1 of those drafted in 2020. Reid should be in the team but cant push out Laverde or Cox. I have no idea why unless he's injured again.

He's been injured since R1.

Agree take a while to develop but I am not convinced that he is going to be a serious player.

Watched him last night.

I woke up with the shakes last night thinking I just watched Cale Morton running around.. and I'm not even an Essendon supporter.

Some ordinary takes in here. Its almost like a 200cm kid hasn't hit hit peak yet let alone a wet night in a game plan he was never suited to be apart of.

Im not holding hopes he becomes Matthew Richardson but 100 game player would be nice

He will get there easily. Brad doesn’t drop the ones he likes - no matter how bad they are.
