Somehow that does not surprise me - JFG and B4E have shadowed each other. Funny how I have managed to piss them both off :D

So what? Its probably someone that works in the same building as me. Its sad you get so much joy out of upsetting people. It says to me that you are not on this site for the right reasons.

Sorry,

Am I being discussed?

I thought I was making conversation.

I'm a little hurt 5.

Especially when my last response to you actually began with "I basically agree with you..."

I'm here to make constructive discussion, which I'll continue to do.

Is there a Richmond supporter around here too?

You have completely smothered me since I entered this site, creating arguments for every opinion I have posted. I have NEVER responded to a post you started you have been the one policing every one of mine.
You might want to get a mirror there mate. If I have followed you around, I had no idea who you were until you started this pedantic little charade over an innocuous post of mine that was not argumentative in the slightest.

I have asked you to let me be, but you have continued to harass me saying 'it doesn't work like that'.
If you persist in telling people they are wrong and naive and then end your posts by telling them to stop replying to them, do you honestly expect that you will get the last word after slighting them like that?

'You're wrong, you're naive, you don't make sense, you're drowning, I win .... END THREAD.'

Yeah, can't think why you continue to get a response from me. I'm a dog with a bone mate. I know what I said, I know what I meant. I don't need others to interpret my words for me and then continue to argue that I was saying something different to what I was saying. I've also been around long enough to know when to exit graciously if I have been caught out somehow. I'm pretty comfortable with where I sit, aside from boring everyone else to death with a meaningless sideshow.

Now when you find you have lost an argument you want to get rid of me. This is a fine order indeed.

If you want to start attacking a moderator over their moderating, expect to be warned over it.

What is this all about? Do you not want any new opinions on this site.
By all means share your new opinions, just don't think you can tell others what their opinions are over and over again despite their claims to the contrary.

I have done nothing but state my point of view on this site, and argue it when challenged.

Wrong. You stated your point of view. Someone else stated their point of view. You incorrectly interpreted that point of view and you did the challenging. I'm not arguing your point of view about the topic. I'm arguing your contentions about my point of view.

Many years ago, I had a mistaken belief that I knew everything and I could argue anything. After a while you learn to pick your battles and be sure of them going in, especially if you are the type that takes defeat to heart. You will rarely see me sweat on BF over anything but frustration at ignorance. If I am not sure of the point I am making I see the potential to get caught out and have to back down. I try to make sure I don't put myself in that position.

Often the written word is easy to misinterpret. Plenty of times I have gone to challenge someone with a bit of bite, but first I stop and ask them questions to ensure I am reading them right. Feel free to jump in the deep end if you like but you have to be prepared to swim.

You made a point. I replied reasonably with an observation. You assumed I was arguing a contrary point. I said I wasn't. You didn't let it go. Nobody is harassing you mate, in fact you remind me of me. Comes a time though where you simply can't argue what somebody is thinking in their head. They have it there, you don't.

Let's move on without further snide comments. We are bound to cross swords on another thread at some point, but if you say something I agree with, I will also point that out. There is no anti-newbie conspiracy going on here.

True, but many Carlton supporters are also currently consoling themselves with the misguided belief that Fev was going to retire in two years anyway.

I'd give Fev four years of good footy.
Can we kick him in the heel every time we play them? Those bruised heels seem to take an age to get over.

I have a sinking suspicion there will be no more pouting and sulking on field for Fev. No more GC Fremantle type games. This will show that he was capable of it all along. Hopefully though, if he loses the bad Fev, the good Fev is not the flawed genius he was with us.

Look I appreciate your response even though I don't agree with every thing you have said. What I think you are basically saying is that the problem with our argument is just that I didn't understand you (which I don't think is true). Also, you have a go at me about being argumentative (which is true), but I have to say that you have been just as bad as me on that front.

I am a dog with a bone too, in regards to my point of view. If someone responds to my post I will always reply.

I am a passionate supporter/member of the CFC and have been for over 35 years. I hate arguing with other Carlton members. But the issues over the last week have divided many of us. Things will get back to normal eventually, but it will take time.

Anyway very happy to leave it at that and move on.

That's the crux of it.

Yes but I was defending, you were attacking. You will usually get a lot more vigour from a defensive position.

We are a huge forum. We will always find something to disagree about.

Indeed.

One day we will win a flag and everybody will be on the same page ... for a day or two at least.

I was defending my point of view not attacking.

I hope we do win a flag one day very soon!

After taking the time to 'soak in" the reality of a Fevless forward line, I can see some positives. IMHO for the last few years numerous opposition supporters/media personalities have criticised Carlton for having a "one dimensional" forward line. Ironically some of these very people are now saying we have "no hope" because he is gone. I believe that on a positive note, we now have the perfect oppurtunity to let our midfielders really shine. How many times did we see our young guns stream forward only to stop and prop and wait for the oppurtunity to hit Fev "laces out", and quite often they did exactly that. I personally look forward to seeing them go all the way and nail the goal from 40 after a blistering run. Those are the team lifters, they are the goals that lift supporters from their seats, they are the goals that hurt the opposition. While it was nice to see Fev mark and slot one from 50, it will be exciting to see some different avenues come into play. I look forward to seeing the searching kicks from 50 land in the "hotspot" and the occasional pack mark from the likes of Kruze and Hammo. seeing Eddie snap one from a bomb that has gone to ground....

It's sad to see Fev go, but let's see the positive side, we are now forced to find other avenues, and while the short time loss might hurt, the long term gains will see a much more exciting brand of football. Things will be O.K, yes we need to adjust and make changes, but I for one, have full faith in the ability of the blokes left to carry the baton......

one other slight hiccup to this "future is bright" theory in here.
By set back 2 years, are you saying that either Henderson or Kruezer will be having the same impact combined, that Fevola would have if he was still in the team? I doubt it. You dont just replace champions in 2 seasons and continue where you left off.

Also, if you guys are set back just 2 years, you realise Judd will be 29 and well past his peak by then.

That is the most accurate comment in this entire thread. You can't replace someone of that caliber in 2 seasons... you get better the following season instead.

If Fonzy is so cool, why does he hang around with fckwits like Cunningham, Pottsy and Ralph Malph?

Ironically we are about exactly where we were last year in terms of a points for table. So considering this is our first year of the new set up, it only points to a fine tuning of the set up in years to come and suggests we are ahead of schedule in that regard, many remember had written down our likely performance in the wake of the shake out.

Having said that, I dont much believe it would matter who we had in our forward line (obviously they still have to be AFL standard players) as I am a big believer in the importance and influence a dominant midfield has on results.
