That sure was good for a laugh. He must have been taking lessons from Clinton Young and Guerra who shit himself in one match when he saw Corey Jones running at him. I also think it was him who dropped a simple overheard mark in their backline when he heard footsteps on Saturday. It's the Hawthorn way :thumbsu:

Morton actually looked like he was shitting his pants almost every time he had the ball. That's a lot of shitting. He was visibly shaking.

Whatever happened to Cyril anyway? Has he been injured, or just found out?

Simply got smashed by a very exciting talent in Gavin Urquhart on the weekend. Gav shut him down, and then provided some awesome rebound with 18 possessions.

He doesn't look like a 4 gamer old' Gav, but he is certainly reminding me a lot of Jesse Smith last year.

As Laidley said after the game, we are drooling at the thought of those two running out of defence together..

Given the publicity of such sides as Carlton, Richmond and Essendon on the strength of their "kids", it is interesting to note only two sides have 2 Rising Star nominations.

how many did you get last year? nil?

and is it true (excluding 2007 draft at this stage) that xavier ellis is the only top 3 selection not to get a nom in the last 6 years?

disappointing.

Fremantle, with their season over, is rightfully playing the kids, with obvious success, given Palmer and Ibbotson look like good players.

But the only other side with multiple nominations... Guess who?

That's right, Pelchen and those other geniuses out there at Waverley have done it again, this time with young Hawk Jarryd Moreton picking up his nomination this week.

Hard to believe there is this much young talent in a side sitting comfortably in third place.

No wonder people hate us. :thumbsu:

What's even scarier is the team that sat comfortably on top all of last year having two nominations, with one of them going on to win!

Wow. Scary.

Not to mention Harry Taylor stepping up this year.

Just as I thought.

The usual suspects bob up with the same tired responses and no real substance.

2 Rising Stars in a club already rated as the best young list in the comp.

Scary how we can only get better. :)

Of course it's a bit curious when a number of the Hawk supporters have said that Selwood is over rated and a dud. At least be consistent.

As for Gavin *s******* Urquhart - there is a reason he hasn't got a nom - he's ____ing shit.

And speaking of nominations, I notice North don't have one this season.... looks like trouble brewing.

Now Rover, I quite like you and your at times humourous posts but i'm afraid you are letting your emotions get the better of you here as you are talking through your arse on this one. Gav can play and will be a star. You can put that one down.

And there in the weakness for this year. You'll be playing the best list in the comp come round 17 - the experience of our players will tell. I'm sure you'll get better, it's just that this year you won't be good enough.

Just how our day to day runnings are making /if not already made us the strongest club in the league. Hawthorn should be now know as the yardstick

if you were, wouldn't you be on top of the ladder ?

What happened to Pelchen and those other genises at Waverley last year then when they were 0/22 in terms of getting a nomination?

Didn't see a thread where you lauded the genius that is Pelchen then did we. Why was that? Were you having doubts over his ability to pick up quality footballers? Or was it simply the kids you had last year just weren't up to it?

RT, at least admit the fact that over the last 3 years, Hawthorn has clearly demonstrated it has the best young talent in the league. This season merely confirms that Pelchen and Co. have not only exceed expectations but have shown up clubs like Richmond, Carlton and Essedon as the frauds they are.

Rioli wasn't even a top 10 pick and he should win it.

Makes you appreciate how good a side we really are. :thumbsu:

You threw seasons a few years ago and are getting the benefits now, they only threw seasons recently. Carlton look like a genuine powerhouse when they get their defence together and have a few more years in their youngsters.

Remember, it's a lot easier to get a rising star nod in a star studded team, because you are winning week in week out.

Rioli is no where near the Rising Star at the moment. Palmer has it in the bag unless something drastic happens. Cotchin could catch him, as could Kroozer.

Wrong.

Carlton have been tanking for 5 years now. Richmond have been tanking for 25 years and Essendon tanked to get Gumbleton and are now tanking again to replace Sheedy's blunders. We had two seasons down the bottom and we didn't finish last once.

As for Cotchin and Palmer, it's easy to look good when you are surrounded by such quality as Kane Johnson, Kepler Bradley, Richard Tambling, Chris Tarrant, Shane Tuck and Mark Johnson.

Try getting a game at the Hawks with guys like Hodge, Lewis, Mitchell, Franklin, Roughead etc, etc. Rioli DESERVES to win it, given the quality he has shown.

It would be a travesty if he didn't.

Like I've said, you only get upset because you can see how good we are going to be. Everyone is the same - they are scared of us.
