It was brutal, and Luke's recovery and well-being is by far the biggest concern. But I'm not sure that I agree with that penalty. Things that happen on the football field are not always somebody's 'fault'. Players go hard at contests and make fraction of a second decisions, without malice. Tough one.

Archer was clumsy and instigated contact to the head. He may not have been trying to knock Cleary out but he certainly failed in his duty of care.

It’s the way he plays the game and with that physical style of play comes these types of risks.

It may have been without malice, but it certainly was reckless, and the reckless acts are what the AFL are trying to get out of the game

"In an eyebrow-raising development, one of the high-ranking AFL officers overseeing the reported Geelong audit recently capped a six-and-a half-year stint as the Cats’ chief operating officer. "

What a disgrace. Not sure Dill and his mates are reading the fan sentiment on this one. People know Geelong and their dealings stink to high heaven and that won't go away.

He'll investigate himself and find no evidence of wrongdoing :straining:

Tell me the AFL is corrupt without telling me it's corrupt.

Even at local government level, the hotbed of corruption and graft, they have to declare conflicts of interest, but here at the AFL you can audit a club you were part of for years and only less than six months ago.

It's basically a club investigating itself.

It stinks.
