How the hell have you found all these titles? I’ve not heard of most of them. I’ve seen The Affair, not bad.

What streaming services do you have?

Just finished Borgen, which is a decent political drama.

The bridge is worth watching too.

If you want a good Scandinavian crime series, Bordertown is great.

Enjoyed Babylon Berlin too.

Watched the 1st half hour of Top Boy today & not sure it's my thing.

I just make a note in my phone when I stumble across articles, reviews or lists or friends mention them

List was growing faster than I was watching stuff though

Got Netflix, Stan, Paramount+ and Prime

My taste might not be as sophisticated as those titles suggest and these are more mainstream and I’m guessing you might have seen some already:

Netflix
Squid Game
Money Heist (watch in Spanish)
Stranger Things
Peaky Blinder's
Animal Kingdom
Narcos
Queens Gambit
Lupin
The Last Kingdom
Start Up

Stan
Billions (but early series)
Power
Godfather of Harlem

I've started re watching x files.

I've fine done season 1. Starting season 2.

Holds up if you ask me

The X Files was brilliant in its day

First season has some great episodes.

Always rated monster of the week episodes
There are some episodes that not only stand alone, but all time classics of TV.

Ice is one of my favs of all time.

4. "Ice" (Season 1, Episode 8)

Mulder and Scully meet The Thing in this Season 1 thriller, which sends the partners to a remote Alaskan outpost where a team of scientific researchers turned on each other after coming into contact with a mind-altering parasite. Inspired by the same novella as John Carpenter's 1982 horror classic, "Ice" is the first example of the show's long tradition of turning fear into an X-File. It's a tight, claustrophobic story that tests the trust between Mulder and Scully, setting up what becomes a central element of their partnership: They can only save themselves by saving each other. It also hinges on potent debates about virus containment. From crews trapped on Arctic research expeditions to worms and deadly diseases awakening in melting permafrost, reality is catching up with "Ice."

A very slow slow paced burner, but brilliant TV show.

The Killing (Denmark)
Seen in the US version and was told the Danish version is superior.

Loved all 4 seasons of the US.

Season 1 was a gripping ride.

I never watched the original series but it looked like something I'd get into. Its in my pile of things to watch.

I should really finish The Shield too. That show is great.
I love The Shield. Its a guilty pleasure of mine, that I regularly watch every couple of years.

Aside from being a great police drama that is "realistic" and loosely based on the corruption of a LA Police Department at the time in the 2000s, is that the story is complete.

Some Fun Trivia with Grotto.

The black police officer is actually doing life in prison.

It was so controversial at the time that the Producers were that Police uniforms had to move their badge from over the heart (left side) to the right side. So in the early episodes you see it on the left, then later in the series to the right.

Vic Mackey's TV wife is the Producer's wife. (IMO a poor actor in the TV series so this didnt surprise me). Vic Mackey's TV daughter is his actual daughter in real life.

Forest Whitaker character was hated by everyone watching the TV show, as they were all rooting for Vic Mackey despite his corruption.

Mr_Moogle what season/episode are you up to in The Shield?
I watched up to the part where they're staring at the pile of cash they stole from the Armenian mob. I think I was a little bit into the season that followed that. Not sure why I stopped watching as I wasn't getting bored. Must have been distracted by something else.

IIRC about Season 3, youve got some great characters coming into the series too, with Glenn Close and Forrest Whitaker.

Did you know that the actor who played the black cop, Julien, is doing life in prison for murdering his wife?

No I was unaware. Pretty crazy stuff. Sounds like a real piece of shit.

There was an actor who played a gangster in season 2 of the Sopranos who was charged with armed robbery and murder of a police officer. He ended up being found not guilty of murder though. He was also in "A Bronx Tale' which was another film about the mob.

In no particular order:
Game of Thrones
Stranger Things
Umbrella Academy
Vera
Endeavour
Walking Dead
Dexter
Doctor Who
Anything with Jenna Coleman in it;)

Not sure if anyone has Prime

But I started watching the expanse again, just about to finish season 5 , season 6 is the last.

But far they keep making that show watch able with some excellent characters.

Mind end up buying the books.
I only started watching it but couldn’t get into it, I’m gathering it’s worth persisting with

I found it worth it.

But yes, did find it hard to get into.
I’ve gone back to him bit made the mistake of not watching the first episode again so I’m a little lost.

Which is that place that they are on? The place where the guy where’s the hat? Who are he and his offsiders and who are they trying to control?

Earth Mars and the guy with the hat is a detective based on the belt (one of the space stations)
