GWS losing would all but sew us up a top 4 spot but it would give Richmond an opportunity to tank their last game to finish 4th, which could cost us top 2, assuming Geelong only lose one more game from here. Hmmmm

It's a win-win really. As we all know, winning a flag from outside the top 4 is unlikely.

If we have to beat Richmond to go B2B, so be it. If we play close to our best we will beat them even at the MCG.

We want GWS to win, even though there is a silver lining to Hawthorn winning.

**** this glass half empty, safety first approach. We want to be closing the year strong and keep pressure on the lone relevant MCG tenant, try to force them to travel for the first time in three months.

Edit: Ah the pies could still overtake us in the top 4 if we lose two more games. And Hawks would still be in the finals race and would make our game more difficult. So I guess go GWS?

If Geelong lose to Brisbane both us and Brisbane could jump them for top spot, making that R23 Bris/Rich game a win win.

Destiny is in our own hands anyway given Brisbane play Geelong next week. We win all our games, we finish top two, guaranteed.

gonna attract a lot of hate and im ready for it....I reckon that Ryan mark against Carlton has been massively overrated. I get the the courage and degree of difficulty... but its not even in the same postcode as his mark over Gawn imo

Both were pretty awesome and I tend to like the Carlton mark better, flew high and with courage back into the pack.

For me the best thing about the mark against Gawn, was the running down basically from the wing and flying, rather than just sitting 5-10m behind the pack and flying. The fact Gawn copped a boot to the face was just the extra sugar coating.

It was a great mark considering in the GF last year he pulled away in a similar situation last minute which led to some ridicule, he's a better player now.

Scully is human slime, walked out of the club he was capt of in a dodgy deal that got his dad a job then leaves GWS for pick 703 because he has a seemingly career ending injury that miraculously heals 5 minutes after he gets to Hawthorn. Seriously would not do any business of any sort with that bloke.

Remember everyone melting about our percentage and how far away we were, had to win an extra game to even get close to the top four?

We’re one Hawks goal away from having the second best percentage in the comp.

Crows board right now is seriously embarrassing. If you're closing in on finals and playing out of state you'd absolutely play your most experienced team right now. You wouldn't be playing kids or making debuts this late into the season, it wont make much of a difference.

You make fair points... But from someone who spends time there reading (😛), there is complete truth and validity to what they are saying. They have had enough. This is the cumulation of years of repeated mistakes, on and off field. Don is proving to be a serious disappointment... I had expected better from him. Who knows what is really going there, he may be fighting the battle like Simmo was...
Good on them for agitating and wanting change. And I hope we can ‘help’ further expose the fraud by winning and winning well on Sunday!

They’re basically just us in 2017. Old side a few years removed from a GF and a level that they’ve not been able to return to.

There were two camps amongst Eagles fans late in 2017; a) the season is a waste even if we make finals, let’s expose the kids, or b) go hell for leather to make finals just to see what happens. Both valid in their own way. I was in the latter, and I firmly believe part of the reason we were able to win the flag was because of the group having additional finals experience in 2017 (hard not to be settled when you’ve played an overtime final).

In no way though could you begrudge the people saying get games into the kids. Another part of the reason we won the flag was because we moved on plenty of old bodies and embraced the youth. Nobody expected the bounce back to happen so suddenly, but there’s merit to both approaches in a frustrating season.

Can’t begrudge the people wanting change, even though when we were in a similar spot I want in the “play the vets and make finals, what difference will three games into the kids make” camp. Either way I hope we help them along too, hang a nice 20 goal belting on them and send a message to the comp.
