Unfortunately it won't as they're doing it for the reaction now. These sorts of public statements are what they want. Creates a catch 22 as the club is doing the right thing in calling it out and supporting the player.
They just have to keep calling it out. The campaigners will always be campaigners and continue to raise more campaigner ****ing kids, but the more you shine a light on it then hopefully the more it gets the normal people of the country to see that it's not acceptable and chip away at generations of bullshit like this being fair game.

Won't 'win' overnight, won't ever stamp it out completely sadly, but you just need to move the needle in the right direction a little bit every chance you get.

So good that the game which started at 10am this morning is finally available for replay viewing on Fox Now. Can't wait to replay the Eagles game on Wednesday night just before the new round kicks off 🙄

Not sure how they came up with the "Now" in FoxtelNow. Only a little misleading..

A blow for young Giant wingman Jacob Wehr with confirmation he'll miss two months with a broken scapula after the hit against West Coast. Whitfield & Kelly likely to return against Carlton but not locked in yet. Number one pick Aaron Cadman firmly in the mix to debut. #AFL

Duggan the destroyer

On SM-S908E using BigFooty.com mobile app

"What is best in life Duggan the Destroyer?"
"To crush your enemies' scapulas, see them driven to hospital before you, and hear the lamentations of their supporters"

That is the guy that got cleaned up the week before as well? Just unlucky or a deer in the headlights?

Unlucky

He was given a hospital handpass and had no time to brace for the impact

Just (very) unlucky

Bit of a hospital handball from his teammate that left him vulnerable to getting cleaned up by Duggan

And the week before he would have been prepared to be tackled but not so much to being shoulder charged like that

Don’t think he did much wrong in either instance

I must admit I’ve had a read of it from time to time, and it’s always glorious. After the weekend just gone though, I actually almost felt bad for a few of them. Wanting to throw it all in and completely give up supporting the club after being there from the beginning. I get it, it’d be bloody tough after consistently being promised success and it never happening, but some of the posts in there were down right depressing. It’s just sport after all, I have to tell myself that a fair bit too.

They're just salty they jumped ship, just to watch the club they previously supporter(WCE) go on to taste the ultimate success, whilst their greatest ever achievement got ruined by Fyfe shanking his way to defeat.

A lot of the older Freo supporters I know shamelessly support WCE as their second team.

It's the young ones that stuffed up and have a chip on their shoulder. Decided to be contrarian and ended up supporting a dud.

I reckon a big portion of their supporters were new to the state, or new to the game altogether, couldn't get eagles tickets cause they were impossible to get in the mid 90s if you weren’t a member, so went to Freo instead. Or they’re salty old Easts/south’s supporters who think the Dockers have some sort of ties to their shit stain WAFL clubs.

A large proportion of Claremont supporters followed Neesham (and some ex-Claremont players that Neesham took with him) to to Fremantle. Some I know regret that move.
