Yeah Willie and Covid really was the perfect storm for WC. In hindsight its easy to say it was silly to not start rebuilding sooner, but on paper we still looked like a pretty good side so I can understand the club's mentality.

As much as the papers played it up, we absolutely imploded in the hubs and it closed our premiership window.

That’s also my experience. My brother adopted Essendon when he got his 1st job because all of his workmates barracked for Essendon. Constantly gave me and my father crap during the 03-08 period when Cousins, was in trouble for his addiction. Nek minnut Essendon go through the worst PED scandal in Australian sports history and have premiership points taken away, players suspended etc. We all catchup at Easter for family occasion and suddenly my brother and his wife don’t even watch AFL anymore and don’t want to talk about it.

12 years. Numerous free agent acquisitions and still doesn't have the list he needs to win tough games. Also on the Port board someone put up a "number of all Australians in selected teams" and Port topped that list with 8. Yet doesn't have the team he wants still.

The playing people injured and running them into the ground has been going for years. Rozee just the latest.

They're hitting Dockers territory with their top tier midfield, decent backs and barely serviceable forward line now. And Boak looks like he's 105 and Wines has straight up fallen off a cliff. Last night almost all of their players looked cooked and they couldn't hit a target inside 50 to save themselves.
