Wins like that define your season, sucks that teams around them have all been losing, genuine chance of top 4 as a result.

What a shitty footy results day. Win against the dees seems slightly less impressive, and crows loss seems worse.
the random upset against freo i guess. but that game for them seems a bit like our Adelaide game, the super shit outlier in a mostly ok rest of the year.

so have north hit the point where we question competition integrity this year? 0/11 with 55.9 we have the fun distinction of having as many points as we have games played.

also essendon loss, swans a game and a half on top with 1 game less played. everyone in the 8 except the 2 NSW teams have played 12.

Coll, Ess and Melb all lose. 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

Apparently, AFL to allow appeals to overturn the results ‘for the good of the game’.

How can Essendon losing be a shitty thing?

Umpires just have way too much influence on games at present.
These umps are a disgrace

Agree on both points.

Blatantly started favouring Essendon in the last five minutes to manufacture a close finish, then found a pointless 50 to make sure Gold Coast didn't actually end up losing due to their intervention.

More than ever, adjudications seem to be called in the context of the scoreline and time remaining, rather than on the play itself.

Geez a month ago we would've been super confident of a banked 4 points v NM and Haw at home but now it's looking wobbly jobbly.

We're in a funny space at the moment. We rely on our young guys for depth, but they're inconsistent. Lose too many experienced players and we're back competing at a bottom level. If we had our best 22 on the field we are firmly mid table and able to knock off a top team at home (if they're not on their guard).

I'd love to win the next three, but if we don't, the silver lining is a better draft pick. If we can get one more gun mid into the squad, we'll be perfectly placed next year to start trading for experience and pushing for finals (Chad Warner would be the dream).

Yeah in my mind we need to be beating at least Norf at home, and remain competitive vs Hawks and Bombres.

Giving Norf their first win of the season on our home turf would be a major step backwards for the year.

Forecast for next Saturday is looking dire (mind you so too did the long range forecast for this week’s game and it turned out to be a glorious arvo) but someone mentioned that Monday night game in the wet against Norf a few years ago which we lost.

Hope we don’t have a repeat of that next Saturday.

Huge loss for WA football besides being our former coach

Football innovator and visionary. Eagles coach in 1988,1989 and as such was responsible for bringing much of the best young talent from the WAFL colts to the Eagles. That was revolutionary at the time and the foundation for the 1990's Eagles three grand finals two premiership and decade of consecutive finals .
The Victorians at the time accused the Eagles of being a state team where in reality the Eagles under John Todd had just drafted the best young talent to the club first.Something the Victorians where to stupid to think of themselves. They came up with the concept of a national draft in 1991.

Son's junior footy club had Brisbane Lions Claremont boys K.Lane and Z.Zakostelsky attending and signing tonight.

Both looked in great nick, ZZ in particular looks like he's managed to add some size already since the draft.

Some nice moments when the son was able to have a Q&A with them and he asked about what it was like to both come from Claremont without playing together and now be playing at the same club in AFL, and you could see both the surprise and delight from them that there's kids out there that know exactly who they are.

For the record, K.Lane is a big West Coast supporter and ZZ "used" to lean towards the Dockers.
