The lions backline is horrific. How did they not go out and get another key back. Got Payne and Joyce who would be lucky to get a game anywhere.

Oh and nice to see Joe leading the forward line šŸ˜
harris andrews was the only player who looked good tonight

not much more he could do honestly

far out though i really do think that's been the worst umpired game this season, brisbane played pretty badly but that was unreal

Stands to reason that there was at least 6 Brisbane players elsewhere he could have hit.

Didnā€™t matter in the end but he looked, took a good look to assess and made a horrific decision.

Also Iā€™m pretty sure this has unequivocally proved that Lobb, Darcy, Naughton and Jamarra cannot play together in the same forward line. Iā€™m not sure 3 of them can.

i think that's true but he was probably just trying to go as far as he possibly could, probably thought it could've been brought to ground

That's why Naughton should be gettable, contract notwithstanding. I reckon if Naughton stays at WB beyond his current contract he'll end up back in the backline.

Joe Daniher having a very Joe Daniher year so far.

Abysmal game tonight, should be dropped on lack of effort alone
Too often doesn't compete in marking contests he's in the vicinity of, plays for free kicks or attempts a dumb speccy in the few contests he does "compete" in, can't kick a set shot with any reliability and doesn't apply any defensive pressure. Fraud of a player.

The loss of Mcstay is huge for them. Limited on talent he may be, but heā€™s the one player they had that actually stood under a high ball or crashed packs to bring the ball to ground. Daniher and hipwood both donā€™t provide that.

That JUH interview after the game was something else. The poor kid said it perfectly in that he's just there to play footy. People can be just the worst.

As for the game.....well...aside from being grateful it's over the Lions never looked like they could take the game away from the Dogs even though the game stayed tight. Last year they could go up a gear, but this year that seems just not possible. There's still a lot of talent in that team though.
As for the Dogs I think they'd be happy to just not be flogged the way they're going. The fans will be happy at least this weekend.

Both teams are so dysfunctional it's hard to see how either finish top 8 imo.

I had both Doggies and Brisbane in my top 4. I thought that Brisbane was a likely GF team as well. I also thought Collingwood was a flash in the pan with a clutch of lucky close wins. Happy to admit I was wrong on all of them. Picking Hawks for the spoon is the only prediction for this year that I have any confidence in now. Melbourne might also not achieve what I thought and Geelong could drop off further than I expected.

Essendon and Norf both look better than I expected, especially considering the outs for Essendon, same with Saints.

However, it is a long season and the AFL has let lowly teams play each other for some early wins and top teams play each other in the hope of quality games on the telly. I don't think any predictions are worth much yet. However, Collingwood has looked excellent against teams that came into the game against them expecting to win.
