$100K fine for Poort, $50k only out of the soft cap is a bit of a joke.
Needed to be at least 1 mil. That's barely a slap on the wrist.

AFL continue to be pissweak with their fines. If you want to make it meaningful and disincentivise doing it again it needed to be multiple millions.

The next white powder drama needs to be 250 and not an amount that an AFL player would probably put over the pokies on a night out.

Does anyone know what the tax is for going over the soft cap? Say they were right on the limit and 50k puts them over the top could it in theory get compounded?
Based on the conversation of what WCE would have to pay if they got rid of Simpson the tax is 100% of the amount going over. In this case if it puts Port $50k over, they pay $50k tax.

Are Richmond done if they lose tonight? They'll be at least a game and % behind 8th. Whilst that's not catastrophic, with three rounds left it's tough to make up.

Say $200k with a 3rd round draft pick would probably pass the pub test but yeah, it's not a real deterrent esp leading into finals.
Money doesn't make a difference to clubs. Don't port get subsidized by the AFL? So it's effectively the AFL paying the fine (or clubs like us/WC/Richmond/Pies etc).

Should've been a second round draft pick taken from them. If you want to make a stance and let clubs know its not acceptable, $ aren't going to make a difference in a situation like an elimination final where the club would make more $ by playing the next week
