unpopular opinion but im not taking anything away from this game;

Melbourne's defenders are better than Brisbane's forwards however the Lions mid sized forwards are doing nothing

Melbourne's midfielders are better than Brisbane's midfielders. including the ruck

Melbourne's forwards are inferior to Brisbane's defenders however the mid sized are doing all the damage

I know it's easy to get seduced by the score line but let's be serious here, Brisbane aren't that great. They have beaten up on some ok teams but seemed to have always struggled 50:50 against top sides.

I am taking one thing from it. You still have to play well to beat Melbourne. Their team zone across the back half is still the best in the comp. What generally beats Melbourne is not making the most out of their forward 50 entries although some of that is because they set up behind the footy and allow an out number inside 30. They have exposed the Lions with real work rate.

the 'star' power of Brisbane's forward line has been seriously found out this season.

McCarthy, Cameron, Bailey, McStay, Daniher and Hipwood have not gotten on there horse and made space for each other. "kick it on my head and I'll be the star" seems to not be working

Will never work against a side that sets up an organized team zone as the majority of the time there ends up being a two or three on one.

its surely geelong. they eat opponents with virtually no effort.
I still think it set up wise Melbourne has been better. Geelong have a great defense but also a great forward line that kicks more goals from their inside 50 chances

dayne zorko a shit bloke? surely not?

Zorko last night was an example of taking the hard edge too far. I would love our Captain to show that sort of aggression but the Zork forgot there was a footy game to play.
