More like the afl sweeping it. Remember the victim approached the afl last year and they decided to keep it hush hush. There are plenty of stuff that players get up to that the afl uses it’s power to keep out of the headlines.

Thats the way AFL works, its always about PR damage control. thats why their biggest concern with Hawthorn after the clarkson stuff came out was that hawks hadnt involved them in setting up the review and handling the review findings. You just know if they were involved they wouldve have ensured the findings never got out and/or the review panel would have been stacked with AFL picked people for minimal drama.

And now that they are involved theyve effectively stalled any action, all the pro clarkson camp are pointing to the lack of action as vindication of him rather than acknowledging this is the AFL machine at work.

It’s the same reason why they came back to door to David Evans To tip essendon off before it came out in the presser in Canberra. It just so happens they threw David and the club under the bus. If they had their time again they wouldn’t have self reported.

I think hird and co have to accept responsibility for what happened so def not #standbyhird person but I can 100% believe his story about AFL HQ calling evans to tip him off.
