Give the Umps a piss and poo guernsey

Oh ethan...

I was at the game, and in between laughing at the soft free kicks Geelong got, I was thinking "Ethan will find a way to say that Geelong were hard done by"

I've admitted I was wrong. Multiple times. Why the **** are you being so vindictive about this?

Because the way you have carried on about how bad you think Hawthorn are and all this efa bullshit you do on peoples post when they mention Hawthorn, you have clearly got this completely wrong and time to take your medicine.

Since they are the only team in the prelims so far, go check the markets if you like
Far enough, just last time I checked Sydney were clear favourites
Well, the next game they play will be on the back of a week off, and if they win that, they have what is effectively a home final against a likely interstate side, so you do the math.
Eh, I still think Sydney are better.

Wait, you thought Geelong were getting the rub of the green? Wow.

I have. Isn't it better to be a bigger man, though, rather than smearing someone's face in the mud because they were wrong?

Your tenacity is admirable.

Quite comfortably. As did all the neutrals around me.
Funny, because every post I've seen concerning them is that Geelong were useless without it.

It's stubbornness and the word is annoying :p. Sydney with Buddy, Tippett and Reid in their forward line would overpower the Hawks IMO

It's funny as I get older I'm getting better at realising that these sorts of guys only annoyed me because they were either worth of praise and/or just good and am appreciating them earlier.

It's got more to do with him being a smartarse.

I mean, I'd loathe Bellcho if I supported another club.

I find this bizzare coming from a poster who goes for the throat over other peoples opinions on a daily basis.

Hawks were always going to win and they still have Bruce's lovechild to come back for the prelim. Sydney should win comfortably, the elimination finals are a toss of the coin, I favour Port as I just fear Richmond played their final last week,

Argumentative? Yes. How often do I gloat though? Well, not very often because I'm wrong a lot of the time but still :p.

You very often argue with a fist down tunnel vision approach where it comes off that what you think is absolutely right and there is no way that could be wrong.... Until it ends up being wrong and you can't be surprised when people want to rub it in with how absolute you can be with opinions on things.

Someone on the Cats board is suggesting Johnson has re-injured his foot and is gone for the year.

Hawkins will surely get a week for that punch last night.

How is Motlop?

I disagree. Punching someone's jaw should not be mitigated by doing it as a jumper punch.
That sort of thing happens every time a brawl starts.

Stupid little niggly incidents like that Hawkins jumper punch (and countless others not acted upon through the season) should still have some points attached to simply tell the player to watch it and pull their head in. I guess I am thinking along similar lines to accumulated yellow cards over the course of a season eventually resulting in a suspension.

For any contact to the face of an opponent deemed intentional (so not in the act of play), jumper punch or no, give them 34 points. That would end up being 3 incidents (ie 102 points total) without an early plea resulting in a suspension. If they admit to the offence, then it would be 4 incidents (34 points -25% = 26.5 points, so that x 4 = 106 points) resulting in an eventual suspension.

Ultimately, if the AFL are serious about protecting the head, then introducing something like this as even a slight deterrent would help IMO. And it's not as if the player could cry foul if they've already had 2 or 3 official warnings about their conduct.

And for those saying it would make the game more soft, just think that a blood nose or even perforated eardrum can easily result from the force applied in most jumper punches. And in AFL land, we all know they instantly get graded more harshly than a glance to the jaw or chin, despite the exact same force being applied.

Chris Scott didn't seem all that impressed with Johnson in his after match presser, might have been a bit of a selfish act from Stevie or a monumental **** up from there medicos.
