Will have a look.

Honestly mate, you're cheating yourself if you don't find the time to watch it.

It has amazing actual radio footage from the battle and input from Australian and NZ and North Vietnamese officers who were at the battle

No chest beating bullshit, just young men caught in a perilous situation . It's seems pretty clear that some of these men are still haunted by the experience.

Wasn't humouring you will bookmark it. Even if you're not into (in fact especially you're not into) war and the military as such, wartime docos, museums are a very interesting way of learning about the edges of the human psyche.

Father-of-three Basil, 46, who is married to mummy blogger Amy Zempilas, has been "auditioning" for the role. He filled in for Andrew O’Keefe on Weekend Sunrise in July and has hosted Sunrise alongside Samantha Armytage. He’s been in the driver’s seat for over 15 years, but now insiders are calling time on David “Kochie” Koch’s stint on Sunrise, and word is Perth local media man Basil Zempilas will replace him. "Basil is basically waiting for the tap on the shoulder and to be told to pack his bags for Sunrise," a well-placed insider told Woman's Day, confirming recent reports there is a Seven shake-up on the cards.

Please, please, let this happen.

The media has gone to the dogs. First Harvey Einstein is outed as a sex addict - sounds like he was splitting more than just the atom!!!
And then Don Burke - I’ll give him “where’s the cheese?”
And Rolf Harris telling us “it expands in the heat. And shrinks in the cold.” Yes Rolf, it does. Not sure about paint though?
And then Robert Hughes from Hey Dad having his way with Nudge.
And this all hot on the heels of the Yes vote for Safe Sex Marriage.
And then I’m watching Bondi Vet Rescue today and there’s a dog having “gender re-assignment”. Am I being unreasonable?
I don’t think I’m being unreasonable.
Poor dog looked more confused than San Gibson at his exit meeting!!!!

Easily the best Australian doco I have ever seen, and the best war doco I have ever seen.

Raw, honest and devoid of patriotic bullshit. 100 minutes long but well worth the time.

Watched this today it was fantastic.

Excellent. I'm glad someone found the time to watch it.

I thought I had found myself in some hairy predicaments in my life but, "drop artillery on my position", is a whole other level of misery.

Very sobering stuff.

Were you expecting real dinosaurs? If you were then I have some news that might upset you.
I was actually. Get Michael J Fox onto it in the DeLorean. I expect more creativity :)

If cant make it....then do it in an all animation if it was to cater for me only. I just find CGI just cheap and lacks imagination....except for the CGI artists who are brilliant.

Star Wars IV-V1 was creative to the max. Now these days its pumping as much CGI crap out as much as possible to make a few million.

Probably half the reason I dont watch many movies these days and stick to series.

Some of the things that stuck for me were:

'land them where I f***ing tell you or we're all going to die.' - swearing over official channels in the 60s, I'm sure this would have been a huge no no yet such was the situation.

'that was about the time I was hit by artillery, and I'm lying on the ground not wanting to look back because I'm sure there's nothing there. Then I think you're being a bit of a dickhead, you wouldn't be thinking these things if you were seriously hurt...

Then the pain hit me. '

I think this is possibly the most aussie response to such a f***ed up thing ever.

Thank god for the NZ gunners, or they would have all ended up dead. NZ artilleryman Maurie Stanley (featured in the doco) was awarded the Australian Unit Citation for Gallantry in 2010, just before he passed away from terminal cancer.

I was also struck by the humility and emotion these men displayed when talking about killing the enemy. No chest beating. No ra-ra bullshit.

Yeah agree with this. It wasn't glorification of the Australians and more matter of fact details of the battle.
