Re: North Central Football League

Im actually very suprised that he hasn't tried for another clearance after his first was Declined especially since they close in about a week... I could only speculate as to why it was declined

Yeah i'm surprised by that as well.. I would have thought the 2nd clearance would have been in straight away..

He would have been cleared as he was playing at Albion the last year and i think he started playing there this year.. I would suggest a few blokes would want to get some clearances in, if they want to play with the navy blues.

Capable of answering my own question for a change... Apparently dislocated a bone in his leg, below his knee...
Very disappointing news for Aaron. Hope he recovers in time for finals.

The Redbacks had a good win on Saturday. Faced with a seven goal deficit early in the third term many of us wrote them off, but they showed tremendous spirit and fought back for a three goal win. Rose kicked four in the second half and Gash was very good through the middle.

On a sour note, a few around me mentioned the poor manner that R Lee showed walking off the ground without shaking many hands and in front of the rest of his team. I did see him in the club rooms having a drink after the game which was good to see.

Re: North Central Football League

I know we are still a long way from finals, but i think the last round looks to be a cracker and will decide who plays finals footy.

Round 19 games:

Wedderburn V Charlton - At this stage you would assume Wedderburn will finish top easily, and Charlton possibly 2nd. That means these two teams will probably play each other again in the 2nd semi

Birchip V Boort - Depending on the continued success of wyche and the saints, the loser of this game could miss out on finals action - this would be a surprise as Birchip were highly fancied early on.

Wycheproof V St.Arnaud - If they both can continue their form and win a couple of close ones, the winner of this game could grab 4th spot.

Re: North Central Football League

That pretty much sums up the way its heading Roj... Its great to see that (at this stage) 6 of the 7 sides look a legitimate CHance at finals

Re: North Central Football League

Yep good to see the league this year having a very even competition.
You were at Boort v Charlton on the weekend Roc?? Comments?
Think Boort are any chance on going that 1 step further this year??

Who was on Boort's Number 5?

Re: North Central Football League

3qtr Time vs Wyche, Birchip were 11.13 (79) to 11.6 (72)

3qtr time vs St Arnaud, they were 11.15 (81) to 11.5(71)

3qtr time vs Wedderburn, they were 13.11 (89) to 10.11 (71)

Re: North Central Football League

Yeah i was there... few things i noted..

During U13's... The umpire (who wishes to remain anonymous) was told to "Go back home to mum" :D By the way...whats the go with the Skins? lmao...wasn't that cold ;) (Great to see Senior players doing it though!)

Reserves: Boort looked well in the game till just before half time, Charlton cut loose and won by a fair margin.

1's:Surprised to see Rick Start up forward, tight, low scoring first quarter...

second quarter, charlton started off well, kicked 2. Walklake went down, and momentum changed completely, with Boort kicking a few quick ones.
Charlton hit back late, and put 3 on the board, scores at half time were 8.4 Charl to 7.5 Boort

Boort looked a good chance for a good period of the day, but Charlton broke away late to record a 3 goal or so win.

Cox, Hollis, Hill all pllayed well for the Navies, Finlay and Judd provided the regular run we see from Charlton, both scoring 4 goals

For Boort, Nelson was important, along with Rice, Ablett, and Gooding

as for Boort going the one step further, im not sure to be honest, having only seen 2 games (vs charlton being the better of the 2)

Sounds like an injury Tadhg Kennelley had earlier this year, only missed a month or so. Jeez you'd be pulling your hair out if you're a Birchip supporter; have obvious potential to be the best team in the league, simply can't get it all together. The coach would have to be the first person blamed in this case wouldn't he?

Re: North Central Football League

they did a similar thing last year. won all bar 1 game in the first 10 rounds or so... then lost 4 straight. (They then won 3 of their last 4, against St Arnaud Wyche and Wedderburn) The difference with this year, is that 2 of their last 3 losses have come against "bottom 3" sides.

Re: North Central Football League

Although they have been loosing these games, and are now in a real fight to make the four. I still think that Birchip has the most potential (if they can put together 4 good quarters) to knock off any side and be a major player in september if they can make the four. Any other thoughts on how they will fair if they make the four?

They have too many good players not to be considered a threat. On the weekend, Wedderburn played very well in the second half which was the difference. Hard to put a finger on where Birchip lost it.

For sure, he was simply out coached againts the saints. :thumbsu: Solyom the tactition.

Re: North Central Football League

That's not a bait, that would be a fair description. If a supposedly 'better' team is beaten by a supposedly 'worse' team, then coaching would have to be a large reason behind it wouldn't it?

Would anyone dain to give a revised market for the flag or feeney?

Can you give me ST Arnaud footy website address?

Re: North Central Football League

totally none football here, but roc when did chris benoit die? and how?

Plenty of storys doing the rounds... him, his wife, and son were all found dead.... it basically comes down to...

Either
He killed the other 2 then himself
She killed the kid, benoit and herself
She killed the kid, herself, then Benoit Killed himself
one of them killed the kid, they both killed themselves...

Soo many possibilitys, no one will know until the Autopsy comes in
