Re: Nth Gippsland Football League

I am pretty sure round one last year Tim Dimarco sat on the bench all day when they played sale....David Ivey played. All reports suggest that Maffras weakness is there back half so i would say he wasn't quite good enough.

I dont see how you can say that a 100 goal player and leading goalkicker from the premier team playing against a fringe player at a club that finished fourth or fifth, would be like Carey v Jackovich.

Everything you say is utter crap.

When we are not being serious we are funny, you are neither, because your opinions border on stupid and your mentality is likened to a puppy dog.

I think you need some sort of red card...

finally people are beginning to see that dylza is an idiot and talks more smack than anyone else i know

Skeeney, you need to watch that tounge of your's, especially when you're not contributing anything yourself that is useful or meaningful and finding a small glimour of light to try and boost your pathetic football career in these forums, instead of facing reality that you have achieved nothing.

Re: Nth Gippsland Football League

Rumour has it THE ROO was seen running around the Lake in Sale yesterday, with his family. Fitness test from what I saw will not be required.

Also heard Luke Henderson has to pass a fitness test this week. It is consisting of Hendo putting his boots on with out the aid of a trainer....time will tell whether he can get through it.

Re: Nth Gippsland Football League

Look out for emerging Young gun Jack Woodland who is currently playing U/14's football at Heyfield, but will definitely be playing senior football towards the end of the season.

I drove past the Roo having a run and his 3 year old daughter was out running him. Could be a few smoke screens being put out there by the Roos at the moment.

I heard that Andrew Stevens has a 2 year old son who may play seniors as well this year. And, Brett Szabo has a 2 legged Dingo which may be appointed captain of the seniors for the second half of the year. Oh, and Stu the Roo's pet Kanagaroo may well play a few games after the break depending on work commitments, he works in the oil industry, week on, week off.

Re: Nth Gippsland Football League

Over a year or two i've been keeping my eye out for a very talented kid who wears the number 16 for heyfield thirds. He is a silky skilled left footer with unbelievable knowledge of the play of the game and has great over head marking ability. He is currently playing very good football and booted 8 goals against woodside a couple of weeks ago.

Re: Nth Gippsland Football League

My understanding is that Corey McKernan is North Melbournes rucking coach and he is only able to play whenever North are playing at home, on a sunday which accounts to 4 games of the North Gippsland season.

Is that even enough to get yourself qualified for this award??

It is if you kick forty goals in those four games Dylza.

Just because you dont pull blokes off...doesnt mean that we dont think your a w***er

What odds can I get this 35 year old not to kick 40 goals this season you idiot?

Hes going to be lucky to play 4 games this season.

You have got the wrong person and by the way that is the incorrect spelling of his name

Re: Nth Gippsland Football League

Seeing as I run the bench for Stratty, why don't I fill you all in on exactly how we will shut those guys down.

Backline: Rocket Bettes Dan Lewin Dylza (first senior game)
Forwardline: Nath Wellins Mark Stevens Shaun Humphreys

Half Back: 'Sugar' Ray Giddings Andrew Tatt Nathan L-M
Half Forward: Wayne Knight Jacob Shingles Lyell Berry

I think really we have the upper hand in all of the match ups except Lyell Berry, he could get hot and carve anyone up. Let alone a bloke who has struggled to keep his spot in the seniors regularly. Looks forward to the battle of the wizards, Sugar Ray vs Wink.

And Andrew Tatt on Shingles.....I think the most important question to be answered would be is the ROO tall enough that tim light can touch his head whilst attempting the best grab since Steve Randall's grabs on little boys in the mid 90s.

Andrew Tatt, nathan King, Geoff Wells all returning to the Stratford line up it makes an interesting potential cricket side with mayman, Hurley, Morelli, Henderson, Light, Rogers, Simon Williams, Mark Nicholls and Steve Nicholls. Not only has the footy side improved but we would be keen to take anyone on in cricket. Does any other side boast a team of people to have played footy for the club in the lsat 5 years to match this. If Heyfield are smashing Stratty at 1/2 time we could switch to a 20/20.

Other big rumours out of Stratford -
Dylan Mclaren
Mark Zanotti
Alex Ischenkeo
John Gastev
Danny Dickfos and
Sanford Wheeler are all keen to don the red and white stripes. They are available to play 4-5 games when they don't have other commitment. It is great to see past champions wanting to return to country footy to help out.
Potential Side
Gastev Zanotti Hurley
Dickfos Hudson Clohsey
Wheeler Jansz Farley
S.Nicholls Bickery Taylor
McLaren Light o'keefe
Ischenkeo Camm Channing
M.Nicholls Cartright Bolton

That is a finals contending side!!

Re: Nth Gippsland Football League

Hey guys, I was just wondering who the strongest clubs in the NGFL were?

Cheers

The traditionally strong clubs were the Dargo Stringrays, Tinamba Publicans, the Newry Cattlefarmers and the Fulham TAFE Teachers. Over time, with all the money that came into local footy, these small but strong clubs were forced to take extreme means to survive. Tinamba were brewing moonshine in the basement of the pub, and had their licence stripped, Newry had enlisted a young man, to acquire some cattle for them to boost their production, unfortunately, these cattle were illegally acquired and Dargo have not been as strong a club since the Wallnut festival became a shambles. The TAFE Teachers had a number of their star players move across the road, they applied to the league to have their named changed to the Fulham Fiddlers, however, this was knocked back and they were kicked out of the league.

So, basically now, Heyfield and Churchill have probably won 6 - 8 of the last 10 grand finals between them, and with the list Heyfield have, I see no reason why they wouldn't win 3 of the next 5.

Cheers for the reply mate, very informative :thumbsu:

So basically, the strongest clubs from the NGFL come from small townships?

Re: Nth Gippsland Football League

Playing him like a piano...Mayhem

Can anyone go with the MAN on the bench?

I have had a few phone calls from different media sources trying to drum up some interest in the Heyfield vs Stratford clash on the weekend.

There are a few angles that they are wanting to go with, the main one being:

The biggest one on one battle of North Gippy Footy for 2009, J Mayman vs N Anderson, the bench coaches, NGFL's 2 footballing geniuses going head to head.

Re: Nth Gippsland Football League

Watch out for Scotty Lucas lining up for the Stratty Swans ressies 2moz down at Heyfield. Will prob have the ball on a string in the 1st half until another 2000 prmiership player Dean Rioli will play the second half with this combiation i find it hard for S.Anstee to get best on ground!

Nick Turnbull would be considered a football genius, apparently he use to bowl fast!!!

The umpires love the little blondie he polled a possible 8 out of 12 brownlow votes last year, of course if he had kept this form up he would have been promoted to the starting 18 for Dargo Stingrays
