It’s really hard to pick but as her goal music played for a second time last night I realised that Vikki wall might have become my favourite player across the men’s and the women’s. just a ****ing beast

Her goal music cracks me up every single time.

Well done girls and thanks for giving us fans something to celebrate! Full of admiration for way you play with skill, structure, courage and commitment. So important for our club to feel some success and start to expect it.

My favourite last night was Vicki Wall, the Wall! But they were all great, every one of them.

Already had interstate nephew call up to sing the song. Winning is so much better than losing.

Everyone played their part and that’s what wins you Premierships more often than not . Can’t underestimate the significance of the win for our Club . Hoping it’s the start of a successful era for both the women and the men. Go The Mighty Roos.

Such a vastly improved team to last year, especially our forward line. Bricki Wall just adds such an extra dimension, her return has been such a welcome addition - speed and a raking kick, what a combo. Opposition defenders feel the pressure and are more fumbly and rushed. O'Loughlin has taken it to another level as well - such a dangerous pair up forward and I wish we had a set up like that in the men's team.

We have Randall and King poke their hand up in the air and want the pill on top of them which works ok against the weaker teams but doesn't in finals and the ball gets swept out of there so quickly without the forward pressure which was definitely the case when we had the mid-sizers the likes of Bannister, Bateman and Abbatangelo.

Shierlaw adds that extra dimension by being a lead up key forward as a target that presents and opens up space behind her, although she was falling into the same trap of being a stationary target last night early on when I think the nerves and occasion was front and centre.

Last season Craven was a bit fearful of the hard ball at times, this year - wow. Absolute clutch. Her kicking is top shelf too.

Shout out to the defenders - Wright and Ferguson were able to clunk vital intercept marks and Birch provides that extra quality defender that means the other two can shuffle down to a lesser one. Bresnehan is a cool customer too, doesn't get the kudos she deserves.

Emma Kearney sold so much candy last night I think the Lions players needed insulin jabs after the match - it was awesome! Such a great leader and quality user of the pill.

Of course the midfield has been our strong suit forever and continues to go from strength to strength. It's so important how quick we are on the outside with Smith, Gatt, Eddey and O'Shea shutting down space and pressuring opponents into dump kicks that our defenders eat up for breakfast.

Great atmosphere last night and felt like a greater proportion of North compared to Lions fans compared to last year. It was a magic occasion and hopefully it spurs the girls to go on to back to back!

Something that struck me last night and has just stayed with me since... was just how massive and unified the NORTH MELBOURNE crowd was.

That crowd was genuinely 95% North Melbourne fans, and it was packed. And we were happy, and jubilant, and loud.

And the crowd stayed after the game.

Yeah, we're a "small" club. But not in spirit. Not in passion. Not in loyalty.

That was special.

We’d have pushed 20k for sure.

Probably dragged in neutrals too.

I have zero idea why they do not play the Grand Final at a premier venue when in Melbourne.

While Jassy was best on ground ,to me it was Wall and Craven who stood up when things were needed the most...

I was surprised to see that Craven only had it 11 times. Haven't watched the replay yet, but it must have been that literally everything she did was top notch and noticeable.

So pleased for Crock. Such a North man. Walked in the door as a kid in 1984 at the moment a dominant era fizzled out. Never a star player, and dogged by injuries but was a trusted member of a young team that slowly built up under Kennedy. Held his spot when the star power came in the 90s and kicks three goals in a premiership. Missed selection in another Grand Final in his last year. Came back to the club as an assistant - fills in when Laidley went, sticks around when Scott gets the job, fills in again twice when Scott gets crook. Sticks around when Scott goes. Asked to coach the women's team - yep, whatever the club needs. And then last night. He deserves everything he gets. Club legend.

If only the AFL owned its own relatively modern stadium, that held around 50k, with a retractable roof and was within walking distance of the CBD. Oh well. Maybe some day.

Absolutely 💯. We were loud, passionate & delirious. AFLW offers us the chance to be together & we were there in droves. Loved it.

Our victory song is the best & even better when it is on repeat being raucously belted out by the faithful after we have been crowned Premiers.

Felt the same. When the crowd start singing the song in the last quarter, it was a great feeling.

With the absolute luxury of watching the replay, and knowing the result, wow, such a complete and utter domination of every facet of the game from go to whoa, without a 50m penalty, they seriously never looked liked scoring a goal at all.

Apart from the brilliance of Jazzy, so many individual cameo's, some of the most memorable by O'Laughlin, Kearney, Craven, Wright, Wall, Bruton.........the list goes on, and apologie's to the rest of the girl's, indeed, we never really had a weak link in the chain, the epitome of team effort.

A bit of karma with their one wood strategy of physicality, they definitely came off a very poor second best.

The absolute cherry on top of the cake was that little angel Imogen presenting the cup to Crock and Kearns, magnificent.

Obviously, it's money. They don't want to keep the Docklands Stadium reserved for that weekend (and effectively a couple weeks before) when they could be raking in money from motocross or concerts. Especially when the grand final is not guaranteed for Melbourne.

Putting feet up for awhile...might crash.....
What a night...
But found this ...gosh can we please have a doco on the whole year...that would be amazing.
Till sunrise.....

You might of thought that was after the game with all those smiles. They were supremely confident and they should have been after that performance.
How good was Any Smith btw? Haters pretty quiet this morn
I told you so The Nostradamus
Also wright and craven who have copped a bit were great also.

Think wright was massive in that first half - nothing got past her

Bruton had a hand in most of the goals too, but fair point you make.

Craven had an iffy first half in the first semi, but has had a great final series since. I used to say in the 90s if I had to choose one player to stand under a high ball and take a mark the team needed, I'd take John Blakey - after last night I'll take Tess. Held her ground to take two great contested marks with the heat on

And of course you're right, it's always the money.

On the other hand, it's time for the AFL to walk the talk about 'respect for women' and give the AFLW a bit more respect by putting the GF at a modern stadium.
