First opportunity to post here, having just got out of hospital today after surgery last Thursday. Had to watch the game on TV from my hospital bed. Slept well on Saturday, dreaming about the game all night long

How wonderful was that performance? What a magnificent team we have in our AFLW girls. So proud of every single one of them. And what a great coach is Crock?

After that first goal from Tess, I had a quite confidence they would get the job done. And what a great game that was from Tess. She is a beauty.

With two more from Alice to quarter time and a softish one to Brisbane, I felt even more confident. The girls were close to doubling them in possessions and the way they were playing, am I one-eyed/biased by saying this is the best ever team to have played in this competition?

Wonderful effort girls. I love you all for bringing us so much joy and a long awaited Flag. As well as setting some standards for the boys to aim for.

GO NORTH
We missed you, but even more glad of the win now I know you were watching it in hospital. Take care.

Thanks H2H. Yep me not being there is of little consequence. All that mattered was that the girls got the job done.

(A few tears of unbridled joy might just have trickled down my face)

Not sure there can be a flattering photo of you.

14 games at roughly 80 mins each = 1120 minutes.

We spent about 63 minutes of it behind. About 5.6% of the time

R2 v Geelong - Q4 2min-5min - 29-30
R5 v Richmond - Q1 3min-Q2 16min - 0-7
R5 v Richmond - Q2 18min-Q3 2min - 8-10
R6 v Bulldogs - Q1 1min-2min - 0-1
R10 v Adelaide - Q1 7min-9min - 6-7
R10 v Adelaide - R2 6min-13min - 14-17
R11 v Gold Coast - Q1 12min-14min - 3-6
QF v Adelaide - Q1 7min-9min - 6-7
QF v Adelaide - Q2 6min-13min - 14-17
GF v Brisbane - Q1 4min-6min - 0-1

We trailed at a break just twice - QT and HT against Richmond
The latest we trailed in a game was by a point 5 mins into the last quarter against Geelong.
In the second half of games we spent 5mins behind - 3 against Geelong, 2 against Richmond
We fell over a goal behind only once - against Richmond
We were behind for more than a 10min stretch only once - Against Richmond.

How dominant is that?
So room to improve

I think there is a lot of improvement in this team, we haven't kept a team scoreless, we haven't reached triple figures, we haven't played the perfect game yet. :)

My parents were younger than my own kids the last time the saints won a flag.
I’d feel bad but **** em.
I feel a little sorry for the Saints, one trophy in 150 years.

I cannot say the same thing for the Blues or Bombers, I'd be happy if they never win another trophy in my lifetime, in my daughter's lifetime and I hope she lives to be a hundred.

Why do we have to play the generalisation card?

Every person of a given age bracket/gender appearing as illogically triggered by AFLW is outnumbered 10-1+ on here in terms of people with the same demographics being supportive.

Tef and DY speak for themselves. Not every north supporting man aged 30-70.

Thanks King. I am 93 years young but love the W espeically with the premierships LOL

Credit to the Girls podcast is a great listen this week.
Gemma was pretty blunt when Sarah asked if "North can go back-to-back", she answered YES before Sarah had even finished her question.

Till you go to their games and see their filthy fans

I know a half dozen Saints fans here in Canberra and I get on really well with all of them, they are very nice people. It must be a Victorian thing. ;)

Tess’s mum was at the Arden St event, I know because she had “Tess’s mum” written on the back of her cap. Very cute family.

We met another North fan at our hotel in North Melbourne. Got talking & she said she was Tess mum. We told her to tell her how much we love her.

Turns out our Premiership Cup photo was with Tess & Libby. In an awkward fanboi moment, I let Tess know we met her mum. Tess didn’t flinch & said “you probably met my whole family”. In fact, my partner met her Aunt & Uncle in the lift.
