Nicole always has her attack on the ball and contest to fall back on. She’s an important component of our elite defence. I’d be ultra surprised if she gets dropped.
Yeh I agree, but she’s struggled the last few weeks and with players pushing the bar has to be high. Thought Shannon played a good defensive role today, moving Bresnahans role to more attacking and she’s struggling. Once Kearny comes back that offensive back role is taken… just feel like on performances she’s risking her spot (unfortunately, cos I like her, or fortunately cos we have so much depth)

The only reason Kearney makes it back in is for reasons psychology, romance and media. The team we put out there tonight is the GF team.
If Kearney is fit, she'll be straight back in, she's the Captain, an 8-time All Australian and still one of the best running defenders in the game. And after tonight it will be nice to have some experience and composure down back.

Unfortunately, there will be three players (most likely Martin, Shannon and Pullar) who are good enough to play in this team that will probably be on the sidelines for the final two weeks.

If she was a “test” this week, she’ll surely be right in two weeks. I don’t see it as a risk at all. Her leadership alone is a big aspect.
I'm not advocating either way, but fit is different to match hardened. Would be great to see her lift the cup though 👍

Can we get a welfare check on the commentators?
I turned off the commentary 10 minutes into the first quarter and watched the rest of the game without sound.

So I take it, it’s not worth re-watching the game with the commentary on?

I never knew being favourites and minor premiers could be such a disadvantage.

Odd thing to say in a qualifying final, but that was a confidence boosting win.

The only downside about being dominant all season is the lack of experience in tight games such as tonight. We absorbed the pressure and found a way to get back in it and play our game.

I’m sure crocks will have the girls working on controlling the footy a bit more when the momentum is against us. I felt like we threw the ball on the boot a bit and the crows had their wall set up to defend. We will learn from that.

A very impressive win from the girls.

Also love that we’ve moved the crows into the lions section of the draw

Our draw will open up nicely to the grand final
Unless Brisbane lose, and then they are over on our side, and Adelaide have an easier path to the GF.

Just got home. We're ****ing massive

I seem to recall that the analysis of the last game we played against Adelaide was all about how even though we won pretty convincingly the scoring shots were actually equal so who can say if we're really the better team? well,

I doubt they lose but yes
I'm not expecting Brisbane to lose either, but I still think Hawthorn is a bit of an unknown. Yes, they had an easy draw, but their percentage suggests they are a lot better the teams that finished 5th to 8th.

Few players will want to be doing a lot of ground ball training this week under pressure

Get rid of the fumbles
They will have gained great experience from tonight’s game. Adelaide really brought the final’s pressure. Erika will know what’s required now.

I know it really didn't make the difference as the margin was over a goal but the free to North late in Q1 was mocked by the TV commentators, as if they thought it was incorrectly paid (something about 9 metres was said in an authoritative tone).

Shierlaw wasn't really putting any pressure on her and she had enough time to make three or four decisions, so I think it was a fair call by the Umpires.

Kearns in the circle - now I can cry.

That “or” is kind of important.

Once again the commentators were able to find fault with our girls or at least one did. According to her, we can't afford the same inaccuracy we showed in the early stages of the game, when we "come up against the good sides" in the finals.

Now it would be nice to get rid of some of the misses, but in my mind at least, the inference was that we will need to display greater accuracy if we are to beat teams that are better than us.

Oh well, we will see over the next 4 weeks whether or not we are quite in the same class as the good sides in the competition.
Turns out you can afford inaccuracy against the good teams. If you're this good.

They can’t be taken for granted.

To anyone familiar with the rules, just before 1/2 time, Randall got free kick v Birch, while Birch was still prone on the ground, Randall steps around her, picks up the ball and plays on immediately, kicking it inside 50 for a mark and their 3rd goal, should she have been called back to get behind the mark or not ?

What about all the htb they got - every tackle and we got about 3.

It must be from the aflw head honchos to try and keep the game flowing but some are so idiotic
Adelaide were tackling like crazy tonight. They earned the vast majority of their frees. We did so well to withstand. It’s the first game all season where the opposition seemed more ferocious than us. We still won. This team has all the bases covered.
