Ah ha. So the secret is out. What I was told some four months ago is now common knowledge. The Hillmen are envious of the success that Kinglake have had since moving back to their former league and looking to renew rivalry with the Lakers from next season onward. Makes a division three in the NFL next season look very, very doubtful!

its not a bad idea...they havent been too competitive since joining the league. west should go to the ammos at least might be more competitive aginst other teams without a junior base and if they ever improve which i doubt will be able to go up a division which they will NEVER do in the nfl

Tips for this week? All games (seniors & reserves) seem to be clear cut except Hurstbridge V Parkside which should be a close game

i think parkside should win as we have already beaten hursty twice this year. really it comes down to our captain brad hockey who hasn't had a kick all year...his been playing injured but hopefully he comes good...his normally not this bad and has come second in our bnf 6 or 7 times.

and as for the ultercation with panton hill with the water boy. I cant shed any light on it as I was getting my third serving of steamed dimi's from the canteen for the day but i agree with snorta.

hopefully ill be right this week as id hate to play under jmac, he never trains and thrashes the twos on thursday night, but then happily sticks him self at full forward instead of the x man.

I was on the ground at the time playing for Panton Hill. The bloke kicked a goal and while the water boy, the coaches son was giving him water the full back pushed him on purpose into the water boy. The player was getting a drink well after he kicked it and the full back was standing next to him for a few seconds before doing it, wouldnt you bump them right away after the goal was kicked??

Agree very ordinary it was number 25 he is new to parkside and not very well liked has worked his way up from parksides FIDA team which is a great effort,has been asked to retire at the end of year to lift canteen sales.You would not get a game in the twos......................

Don't think Parksides hopes are with there captain but more so with Wise Mills Dmac and JGresham,but after that 4 they are a very even unit who should give it a fair shake....

couldnt agree more blackpooler, next year when we get a couple of good players in will male our side stronger and i would even tip us to win 3 or 4 games, West is back on the rise

settle down you goose. wasnt bagging the club. in fact nearly played there this season. but something needs to change at west though. surely you cant deny that? if west continue like this they wont have a club too much longer no jumiors and no money. div 3 will be great for west, ressa, parkside etc but i dont see it getting off the ground without at least 2 more clubs

yeah sorry mr kwame..i shouldnt just assume ppl bag out west, and i agree with u to an extent..get some juniors of some sort and that will help out heaps...and westhawks...we will win atleast 3 next year..hopefully.

with the juniors at Heidelberg West, the plan is to enforce a junior cricket side first as it easier to start juniors with cricket and then hopefully build on a juniors. The most important thing for west footy at the moment is to get financially sound, which they have achieved this year compared to last. Secondly recruitment, get a couple of quality key position players in and that helps the team out.

Once we get a couple of wins and a good player base is when we introduce a junior structure, so id say that wont be for at least 5 years or so.

i think the dvfl/nf have missed the boat with div 3.......should have implemented it when fawkner park kinglake and wallan were still in the comp. if the div 3 was in place then wallan and kinglake might have stayed and fawkner park would have been more competitive therefore not lost all their players. clubs like west, ressa, parkside will be more attractive to potential players and sponsors when they arent getting belted every week

with West Heidelberg. Didnt they get a rather larg sponsor this year to the figure of around 30k.. If this is true why didnt they approch new players and get a much better coach the james???

The reason why we didnt try for new players was because the money came in close to the start of the season and most players we wanted had already signed to other clubs so the board thought it would be better to play this year with what weve got and recruit next year. I think we may be a chance at getting John Andrews back from Heidelberg and a couple of others.

we bought a coach the year earlier and was a big dissapointment, players first, matty james did a good job this year and i felt his training drills improved in the latter of the year and hopefully he will keep the good drills going into next year. Things like set plays and contested footy only came into training in the last few rounds and i felt my awareness improved from those drills, just a pity we didnt do it earlier

I was able to see a few games of west this year and found that James was working to hard with a center and forwards and was leaving the backman very much alone to deal with it in there own way.

Earlier in the year against Parkside and again against South Morang he was only in the heads of the centers and forwards. I know you have to win the ball out the middle and also kick goals must you also have to stop them bein kicked.

The 1st Reservoir game at west where i cant remember the fullfoward that was playing had 4 Different oppenents for the day and James told his players this how you play him and the forwad ended up kicking another 3 in 5 mins on him. So the games i seen i think that west focus must be shared around and help out a little more with the backman.

This is not a dig at west just my opinon

For sure. When we first played Reservoir we didnt have a big full back to go up against them and there was not much we could do, as you would no we have a small team. But we did get a new backman midway through the year in Rob Rich who has done a great job, one problem they have is that they play favourites with some players and when their injured. Instead of having a 2's player step up, he would play an injured 1's player.

Who is they? You cant have favourites in a football team it makes the ones missing out drop there head. I agree with putting the best side on the park if you have someone running at 50% for 50 mins you re better off playing someone who is a 2's player and running @ 100% for 40 mins with rotaions you are still getting more out of the 2's player. This is were the coach must take control and say hey i want him and need to rest him !!!!!

I wont name names but its happend a couple of times this year and no doubt it happens at other clubs. But if thats what the coaches decide, then ill support there choice

I think Macleod have more of a chance of getting John, considering that his bro is thriving there. Can't see him playing D3 in my opinion.

yeah, it would be between the two of us, i think if you go to div 1 then he will go to macleod, but most of his friends are at west and he has been down a couple of times in the last few weeks, so were hopefull
