Don't think they'll ban him for 3 years mate.

It’s leverage I think, not something they want to do for the heck of it.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was suggested to Djokovic through unofficial channels he goes of his own accord or risks the three year visa ban.

And it might come back to bite him. He may wish to play into his late thirties like Fed & Rafa. The stakes will be raised if Nadal wins this year's French Open.

Might as well risk it.

I doubt he would want to return after all this anyway. Plus, he seems firm in his vaccination beliefs. So nothing to lose really.
If he is firm in his beliefs why did he turn up, knowing that being fully vaccinated is a pre-requisite for all foreigners to enter Australia without having to quarantine.

Interesting that he is not detained immediately... His visa is cancelled so doesn't make sense. Further, if he was such a public health risk like they are claiming, he should be detained.
The health part is bullshit though, if he really did have covid last month then he's one of the safest people to be around now.
The Good Order part I can agree with regarding potential for violent scenes at Melbourne Park, just have to look at the Park Hotel fiasco as an example

The correct decision has been made regardless if you're a Novax fan, hate the Government or an anti-vaxer. He is a health risk to the public purely because he CANNOT BE TRUSTED in the community regardless if there is 30k cases, it doesn't mean a thing. This man has been caught in his own web of lies.
Personally don't believe he was positive in Decemeber but that's his word so I'll go with it. This man was "positive" and even after finding out, he didn't even give the functions the curtosy call that he was. Now that's a dog act. This is why I believe the whole thing is made up.
My opinion of course.

That's why Novak needs to speak and call for calm.

I do agree and i hope he does that but im not sure he will-i think he will dig in which might lead his supporters to escalate things. I hope im wrong.

Money is not an object and this fiasco will be chapter 20 of his autobiography

I think they are letting him have until morning so they see if he decides to accept it and go voluntarily (which they hope he will). Besides if its ends up in court sunday or monday then they can be seen to have given him more time to present his side which is what the judge was unhappy ABF didnt do last time

This is a major part of the problem. Novak is so driven, he doesn’t think

To be fair i think that mindset comes equally from his family and his team and they give him bad advice re being stubborn and arrogant etc.

Thats all very well and good but none of that has any relevance to the court. They are purely ruling on whether there are legal grounds to deport him or not.
Is it legal to deport him for shit he's done overseas, or does it need to be confined to his time in Aus, where I imagine he'd have a pretty unblemished record?

Do you think Osama would have been let in because he didn’t do anything in Aus? 😳
