Should be a relocation of a NSW side there’s too many in Sydney/NSW as it is
Central Coast is a huge catchment area, there's a stadium all ready to go. It's out of Sydney so won't impede on any Sydney clubs. Has a rivalry with Newcastle etc etc.

Actually makes perfect sense.

Quite possibly though I do query the spine spine. Crighton is not a FB, and who is half, the best one is the young kid and they won’t play him.

Actually have you improving a fair bit not fussed on results just being competitive most weeks.

Taafe should be FB

1. Taffe
2. Kiraz
3. Xerri
4. Crighton
5. JAC
6. Burton
7. Should be Sexton but probably Hutchison

Not a bad backline with speed to burn... We've got some of the best young players coming through in all positions however some of the halves we have will be outstanding players (Whether they stay or go).

We are about 2-3 years away from dominating for the next 10 years, we'll finish around 9-12 this year.

I worry about the Dogs again this season. I think Ciraldo as a coach is Trent Barrett in disguise.

Then as mentioned, the spine is still poor. No dominant half and Taaffe is only so so. Xerri should help in the centres at least, as will Crichton.

Their biggest problem though is still their forward pack. They'll get monstered most of the year again.

Still another NsW side there’s already too many.

Have you coming 14th but that’s just because those halves are huge problems. Neither Sexton or Hutchinson are taking you anywhere and Burton is a centre trying to be a 6. Joseph ONeil who played in the trials is the one but he sure isn’t ready now. I love your forwards though probably lack one middle but that’s an easy fix.

They'd easily fit in and they make far more sense than PNG.

QLD first, WA and then Central Coast would be my priority.

QLD then another NZ side (though I’m not convinced), WA (even less convinced), then Central Coast

Bugger me. A blast from the past. Welcome back.

Andrew Webster reporting ticket sales are now at 45K for Vegas!

When this was announced I thought anything over 30K would be a success, this is just on another level!

Lot of expats there and US people go for an event. I still hate the concept though

I didn't like it at first but I've been turned... The amount of coverage the NRL have got from this in OZ alone has made it worth it let alone the coverage in the US!

It's being shown live on Fox 1 in the US.. The next 5 years of this could potentially get the game another revenue source which could dwarf anything any other code has.

Just hate how we all know the clubs competing will have to do mini pre seasons when back in Australia

How much shorter/narrower is the field over there?

Saw Latrell last night talking about it being narrower and expecting the wingers might be taken out of the game somewhat.

5M in length which isn't an issue... But it's also 5M or so in width which will make open play a little harder.

WA is a no brainer, but not according to V’Landys…
Can't agree it's a no brainer. I'm far from convinced on WA working

The history of the Reds a really interesting one that was kind of lost in the story of Super League.

In a lot of ways they were just a team ahead of their time - they pre-dated cheap flights, they pre-dated the refurbed rectangular stadium in Perth that the Glory play at, they pre-dated massive tv deals, and they pre-dated this scramble for "timeslots".

If they'd been born at any other time in the last 30 years of rugby league other than ARL and Super League coming back together, they'd have received the support they needed from the league, the money to help with transport and accommodation would've existed, and they'd still be around today.

I think there's enough WA-based teams to demonstrate they're parochial enough to support it and make it work.

On the Vegas experiment, I'm happy for them to try it... I'm not sure I understand the end goal though.

Think it will be a lot harder. 63m instead of 68m in width is like 7-8% narrower.

Teams are already pretty good at shifting defensive lines making the field that much narrower hugely improves defence.

I’m all for the us expansion and think it’s a great play by the NRL but **** these games could be reeeeeeally ugly.

Should also make 40/20s a proper option.

Dogs don't have a half or forwards.

I hope the pelican Gus sacks Ciraldo and the dogs have to endure another 5 year rebuild.

And Reed mahoney as well is overrated.

I guess, it just seems brainless. What is the point? You aren't getting NFL fans to be RL fans.
You might, the games very similar (tackle count=downs, offensive and defensive lines, hell you can’t pass forwards past the line of scrimmage in NFL) if you get even 1% of the NFL fans interested it’s probably a worthwhile venture.

Add in the untapped potential for recruits (plenty of college players who don’t make the nfl) and the whole venture is definitely worth the effort.

I’m not sure if American League plans, that might be a bridge too far but the remainder seems pretty sound to me.
