what an odd start to the season.

Must say even as a Chook, the most surprised person in the world last Friday night was me. When Penrith scored that first one I just thought ‘oh no here’s 70 points’ but yeah, a few blokes aimed up and what do you know. Crichton actually tackling properly made a huge difference to our pack. No Radley and butcher and Collins means our three most reliable ‘bigger’ defenders were out so I thought we would just get carved up by their pack.

Of course I’m expecting a massive let down across the ditch this week, though. But who knows, if we suddenly go 2-1, maybe we become a contender to sneak into the 8. Only early but a bit of belief, knowing we have Walker and possibly Smith still to come back later in the year. We obviously can’t win the thing but anything mid table would be a pass

Melbourne
NZ Warriors
Brisbane
South Sydney
Dolphins
Gold Coast
Bulldogs
Canberra

Another tough week of tipping!

All games can go either way including Parra V Dogs... Dogs down Kiks and Burton which will be massive!

Storm on top with the bye, VicBias!

gonna be another long year for the Eelgles. the colours, the 2014-24 coach exit, coming off 3rd last...

Canberra top 2 in both leagues brings back 2019 GF week. richmond & roosters even managed unlikely wins this week

Still think Penrith have enough in the tank when they’ve got everyone on deck and sort out their best combination to win the comp.

Fair play to Melbourne getting the two points but thought that was a little bit of a statement from the panthers in its own way - everyone knew it would be a bit of a battle, as it is each season when they keep losing all these good players, to see how they would start off. Add Cleary and Edwards into that mix of the players they DO have and it gets harder again. Against the other powerhouse, in Melbourne, and they still nearly pinched it.

Huge effort.
