did anyone else notice that the titans and cowboys are playing tonight here as well. I only just found out. Don't want to seem obnoxious but what are they thinking? Do you think I am right that this is poor fixturing from the NRL? What kind of crowd could they draw tonight? Should they have made it a Sunday game?

Who knows what the NRL are thinking at times. haha.

The titans game starts at 5:30, and with the reserves game being played at Metricon at around 3-ish, would be smart to head down to the stadium early to beat the rush of NRL fans, that is if you're heading south by train.

23k at Metricon vs 15k at Skilled. When the NRL deliberately scheduled this clash I don't think this was the kind of result they were expecting :D

pretty god damned stupid to double book for the pies game

maybe they thought well its a big chance for the titans to win
while everybody knows collingwood would win

in any case i caught a bus down to the station then switched to shuttle
was easy enough no hassle but in the future i will look at that garden centre parking for 10 bucks

About 40 of us pie supporters went to the titanium bar not knowing it was some sort of Titan social club, there were only about 10-15 titans fans there and they didn't know what was going on after a few cwood songs got going after many beers were downed.

Lol , that would of hurt them , Titans have had there pants dropped twice , wonder if we will see a third.

Saturday 18th of August
Titans vs Storm Skilled Park 7.30pm
Suns vs Lions Gabba 19:10

i guess they are hoping to snag the casual fan that doesnt want to travel 90mins to the gabba

interesting if they try it for the crows game as well

When the Suns played the Dogs the NRL move the titans game to the same day and I remember the crowd for those games the Suns got 16k and the Titans got 12k.

The NRL keeps moving the Titans games to the Same time as the Suns is because their trying to see who can pull the bigger crowd. And they think if the Titans are playing at the same time as the Suns than their going to steal people from the Suns game.

Geeze there is some misinformation in here...

As crazy as it is, the NRL has no say in scheduling under the current broadcast deal. It is decided by the networks. Channel 9 gets first two picks, foxsports 3 and 4, channel 9 pick 5 and fox 6/7/8.

The NRL can put in the odd request, but by and large networks decide. This has severely dented some crowds this year, with fox deciding to make monday night its flagship game, its had some blockbusters on monday nights that are not as crowd friendly. Another example is that the broncos want darren lockyers last ever home game on a sunday afternoon, but almost certainly ch9 will pick that as a friday night game. Gallop has no say.

To get back to the point, if anyone thinks the NRL, esp with the DREADFUL season that titans are having, would actually want to go head to head with one of the Suns biggest games of the year, the year, you're kidding yourselves!

Yeah it's always just an amazing coincidence...
