Here’s a silly little game we can play in the off season if you would like to join me.

In this game you have to list the first player that comes into your head when you think of that jumper number.

Be interesting if we get many different answers.

I’ll start

1- Frankie Peckett
2- Aaron Hamill
3- Nathan Burke
4- Tony Lockett
5- Aussie Jones
6- Seb Ross
7- Nicky Winmar/Lenny Hayes
8- Max Hudghton
9- Fraser Gehrig
10- Peter Everitt
11- Leigh Montagna
12- Nick Riewoldt
13- Brett Voss
14- Luke Ball
15- Michael Gardner
16- Raph Clarke
17- Steven Powell
18- Brendon Goddard
19- Luke Penny
20- Allen Murray
21- Matthew Ferguson
22- Aaron Fiora
23- Stewart Loewe/Justin Koschitke

31- Jamie Shanahan
32- Andrew Mcqualter
33- James Gwilt
34- Jayson Daniels
35- Robert Harvey

38- Clinton Jones
39- Cameron Shenton
40- Troy Schwarze
41- Tim Pekin
42- Brett Cook
43- Brett Moyle
44- Steven Milne

What’s interesting when I think of our jumper numbers I don’t automatically think of our current players.

Over to you folks let’s see what you got.

Some of the 30s I really had to think about.

Wayne Judson.....how could I forget him. Our only big V rep for a number of years right.

Annoys me a bit how much Barks gets looked over by the younger supporters. I get it, it is not logical but fair to say that StKilda would not exist today if it wasn't for Trevor Barker.

I find it interesting that we don’t think of current day saints and we think of players from past eras depending on our vintage.

Know what u mean ... no 9 Max Crow ... why he came into my head in front of some notable others I cant explain

Funny how you revert back to your childhood teenage years

No 11 ... Monty just came into my head but suddenly bustling through the middle was Greg Burns

When he kicked the winning point in 1966, Barry Breen was wearing number 27. That was the first name I associate with the number, and pushes him past Blake, in my opinion, even though he wore number 4 at the end of his career.
