To all who are misfortuned like me and had their teams wiped it is now clear it was no glitch.

If you look in the leagues section you will find you have been kicked from your original leagues.

I'm gutted.

Watch out for me next year now :D

Apologies if I've misunderstood your comments (bolded comment in particualr), but are you suggesting that teams were wiped on purpose? Source? Proof?

On purpose? More like you HAD to have a team with the required number of players, those teams that did not are invalid and hence wiped. Seems pretty clear cut. What else are they supposed to do?

I think I was lucky I didn't have the same problem, as I was trying to change Emergencies but using a different method.

If you use the "Player Stats View" rather that the "Graphical Team View" it gives you a drop-down menu to "Substitute With" and you can choose one of your bench players.

This is what I was trying to do with Proud for Thompson because the graphical view wouldn't load. The change didn't go through (time-out error) but I didn't lose my entire team either.

At least doing it this way you don't have to unselect a player to select another one (although Rnd 1 is the only time it should be possible to lose your entire team).

Does sound pretty logical, especially if people were trying to trade during the mad rush on Thursday night. Has anyone sought and/or recieved any sort of confirmation from the people who run the site?

What was your team name as you were in League 2 weren't you?

well............for starters they could seriously investigate the complaints they had received. Have they done so then they would have discovered that people were logged in and were in the process of finalising their teams when the servers started to grind to a halt. If they took the time to look at this, it would have been pretty obvious that those who were logged in and lost their teams due to not having a full squad by the time lockout occurred, was due to the fact that navigating thru the site was impossible due to the spanking the servers copped.

The fact that some people didn't have their teams picked earlier is neither their fault or relevant. A person entering the competition has the right to pick their team up until the lockout as per the T&C. Fact is that people had their teams wiped due to the fact that VS (or whoever is in charge of providing the hardware/bandwidth resources) could not provide the bandwidth/server capacity to handle the traffic.

p.s just found out that the promoter of this comp is Telstra which means bandwidth/servers are likely to have been provided by them, considering that AFL website is hosted by them as well explains the lack of resources to handle to traffic. gg Sol

What he said

Opposite for me, kept my team, kicked from the league. Pain in the ass, I could actually benefit from picking a team next week, but not if im not in the league...
a team was kicked out of both my DT and SC div leagues last night and replaced by randoms; a couple hours later, they were put back in - after lockout, both teams scored 0 as they were incomplete. 1 of the teams had 29 players, 1 short of a full team. the other team was missing an entire midfield. even though the teams were put back in their original leagues for those 2, not sure if they'll be able to use those teams. which might be a waste.
