He is a small, less aerial version of Shai Bolton. Live wire fed/mid. Very good offensively, very poor defensively.

Would stand to be a rookie at the moment.

Apparently Matt Foley was training eth-dog ant555

ADW would need to shuffle on the bench to fit both he and MF on it as my boy

A few of the VFL boys have played to make up numbers for match sim.

Panning out very nicely for my best side

Zac still plenty HBF
Davey going well to add serious speed/pressure running ability forward in tandem with Kako and Hobbs as the 3rd small/5th mid mix (Durham showcasing his ability forward may allow a swap with Hobbs a bit)

Seems were looking more at the Bryan and Draper combo over 2MP from what im reading so far

That was equally good and bad to see. Kako binging the pressure needed was good. Hobbs getting caught taking too long with the footy was bad.
Hard to make a definitive call on Hobbs without knowing what options where in front of him. Yes move it on quicker which is an issue with his outside game but the option could have been down the line turnover or a kick down the line the coach does not want. Even worse effort by Shiel to let Kako run forward and make the tackle. Could have put a bit ore pressure on Kako and give Hobbs more time which I suspect Hobbs would have suspected.

Could be true. It is the little hitch though before his final kicking action that hurt him there I think. Not confident on his left so had to adjust to use his right and he got caught then.

Really not much Hobbs can do there as a right footer recieving the ball like that

Thats why speed and pressure is so important though

If he kicks the first time he fluffs that out on the full 90% of the time

Ant spot on, Shiel needs to be doing more whether he could do much or not, he had no intent or effort to, half a second is all that was needed

Even imo Shiel should be kicking and dis regarding the handball to a right footer running in like that

That there is exactly why Hobbs has stalled. Gets caught holding the ball way too often. Needs to give ball off at first option or he is VFL IMO. Lacks pace to take game on.
So you want him to be something he is not ? There is no point doing a McGrath and just running to nowhere .Where was the first option in this clip ? was there a first option ? So much you can not see in that clip. Yes his outside game is average and needs work but lets not flog the horse when you are only seeing 30% of the picture. Lets face it he had limited time to get something going before being tackled by a quick small forward that should have been blocked. How many good players did Walla make look stupid ?

Yeah, maybe a bit harsh. Just saying generally he has a bad habit of getting caught with the ball. I like him as a player but needs to be the inside bull quick release player imo, or even used more in the fwd pocket as he is a good mark for his size.

Also .. who at Essendon training in January would have been expecting a forward to not just give up after providing pressure at the first contest, but to actually chase at top speed as the ball gets to the outside

Poor Hobbsy, he’s become too used to Essendon vs Essendon

....... wont mention middle part of ground

And on Hobbsy he does have a tendancy to be slow hand to foot no doubt. He has to become what he was known for. A hard ad a cats head inside bull that wins it in tight and dishes off by hands and can go forward and kick a goal. He knows how to amass the ball. He has to become viney
