Emma Quayle is saying Melbourne's looking at pick 3 for Hogan (via Twitter).

Lee I'm guessing will be farmed off with maybe Adelaide's compo pick for a higher first rounder.

I'm hoping we keep Anderson but he may be viewed as having more value to upgrade a pick again. It depends where the club rates him - if they rate him at a second round talent, they'd probably be looking to use him in an upgrade.

We've also swapped compo picks in the GC trade. I'm not 100% sure but it seems they were both end of 1st compo picks, but GC now have one expiring in 2015 and GWS expiring in 2014.
 
I like that, good value from a pre-listing. We wouldn't use #24 or #43 given the array of 1st round picks at our disposal, so take the best pre-listing candidate and get #12 for him.

I agree this is smart trading and using the pre listings for full value.

Melbourne and GWS have basically admitted a deal is done for pick 3 on Hogan meaning we have 1,2,3,12,20 + Jed Anderson in a really strong draft. I do hope we take Grundy as one of the first 3 along with Whitfield and Toumpas. With 12 and 20 maybe guys like Plowman, Vlastuin, Mayes, Lonergan, McRae or maybe a speculator on Menzel who may be a slider.

I think Sheedy said ages ago we would have 5 first round picks this year. Nearly there.

What I want is nothing big, just one best midfielder, best ruckman, best defender and best utility in the draft.

1,2,3,12 should do that easily (but I can see 3 not being 'wasted' on a defender as it is probably a bit high).

Doing really well but we will not be taking Grundy as GWS believe like Paul Roos believed not to waste a earley pick on a ruck man. This has been shown by we could have listed Billy Longer as 1 of our 17 year old picks and we overlooked him then draft last year every body said we would draft the best young ruck man being Longer and we didn't and it is the same this year. If it was me I would grab Grundy because he is in a different league to Longer but hey the club is doing a good enough job without my advice lol

We took JV with 26. Maybe we want to upgrade our 40 to your 20 with a gift thrown in...

Or potentially the compensation pick you got from Gold Coast - whatever it was.

No, we couldn't have. Longer was born in May, the concessions only allowed for prelisting kids born in Jan to Apr.
