Half time of the last game and Kaman for Moo is the last player to go. He's 2-8 FG and that's the only cat still in play. Moo leads .445 to .443 for an overall 5-4 lead.

Edit: I guess he could grab 7 more rebounds to tie that cat for Moo as well.

Well played Hammy - bit of revenge from a couple of seasons back.

Surprising finals participants.

Build it and they will come.

Well done to Grangers Ghetto, came up big when it counted and went on a giant killing run in the playoffs.

Final standings:

1. Grangers Ghetto
2. Mootown Rats
3. Milwaukee Tankers
4. Run and Barry
5. The Birdmen
6. The Green Machine

7. The Laettner Loco
8. Kennys Allstars
9. MC's Hummers
10. Double Dutch
11. The Rejects
12. Team of Champions

Reverse that for next seasons draft order.

Thanks for a good season guys, catch you all again in a few months.

Thanks gridders.

Exciting season indeed. Won the stream shootout semi-final against Adam which was such a close matchup... by 3 rebounds!
Would not have beaten the Tankers in the final, but another upset by Moo helped my out a bunch. =]

That's back-2-back and 3 of 4 ^_^

Just throwing this out there, but does anyone want to change the keeper or something similar. We've been growing and growing and the draft seems so tarnished and abnormal with all these different player values.

Makes trading extremely difficult too throughout the season. We only had 2 trades this year - both massive multi-player trades due to this fact and trying to get values as evenly as possible and no simple 1-for-1 trades just to improve the team.

Anyway, just throwing it out there.

I think you might be right. We've all become rather proficient at landing the great players and holding onto them. The drafts don't hold as much talent or excitement as they used to.

Maybe knock the players kept back to 2 or 3 a side?

I agree, the draft has become a bit stale and is certainly not as exciting as it once was. However, I am a bit uncomfortable changing the rules at this stage when some players will have drafted and traded based on the 5 keepers format.

But if there is consensus that we change the rules to freshen things up a bit, im all for it.

What are everyones thoughts on changing the rules and what are your suggestions?

I agree with you gridders that's it's hard to change things up now, but I do think we need a change to make it more exciting and freshen things up.

The draft is very boring with the keeper rules. I say we just keep 2 or 3, and then just draft as normal. Everyone is in the draft pool except those kept. No 'values' on players which comprimises the draft and 'skipped' picks.

I think it'll be better if the player turnover each year in teams in higher.

I like a keep 2 plus 1 keeper being a late round draftee, say, round 8 onwards. Rewards the real good picks plus you get to keep your best players, plus we get to have a relatively new draft each year.

2 keepers regardless of where they were drafted plus one guy in the first 4 years of his NBA career. (Basically a rookie contract that includes guys that may have been second round picks) Essentially it would be like a regular draft with the first 2 rounds omitted plus one young guy.

My other idea is more of a fun one that makes the offseason more fun rather than being any major change. We should use the NBA draft lottery. Basically the bottom 6 teams are assigned the lottery combinations of the bottom 6 lottery teams and have their draft positions determined that way. Obviously any team moving up from outside the top 6 would be ignored.

Thought I'd post my team so I don't have to do it later...

Amar'e Stoudemire (1st Round)
Deron Williams (2)
Steve Nash (2)
Jason Terry (4)
JR Smith (6)
Mike Bibby (7)
Al Horford (7)
Brook Lopez (12)
Rodrigue Beaubois (undrafted)
Matt Barnes (undrafted)
Anthony Morrow (undrafted)
Darren Collison (undrafted)
Marcus Thornton (undrafted)

What do we all think of this rule coming into effect this year?

I quite like it.

I'm kind of against it as I used last year to basically rebuild with later picks in Mayo, Evans, Aldridge etc etc.........in saying that I'll obviously go with the majority.....but yeah, kind of makes last year pointless for myself.

Maybe instead we could do something like you can only keep one player from the first 3-4 rounds.....and then you can keep four players from round 5 onwards??? I dunno, just an idea....that means that a lot of stars would get spread out around the league each season.

Thats fair enough. A lot of people would have prepared their lists last season expecting the current rules to continue. Bit unfair changing it half way through.

Perhaps we go with the current format this year, and pick up this rule for the following seasons?

Yeah to me that looks like the best plan of action, as long as we decide on the format for the 2011/12 before we begin drafting and keeping players for our 2010/11 season :)

Dwyane Wade (1)
Antawn Jamison (2)
Tim Duncan (2)
Andris Biedrins (3)
Rajon Rondo (4)
Mo Williams (4)
Ray Allen (5)
Derrick Rose (7)
Jeff Green (10)
Carlos Delfino (13)
Spencer Hawes (13)

Undrafted:

Charlie Villanueva
Anderson Varejao
Nick Collison
