This why I love Bigfooty.I'm not sure if anyone noticed, but in the 1st quarter their new recruit (Holland) ran from one end of the ground to the other. It was astonishing and I'm not sure if any other player has done that before. The least the commentators could have done was to tell us about it for a few minutes.
Interesting to note that there has been no comment here from #RUNVS telling us that Campbell has no tank.
Good call and to be fair some posters haven't grown up with footy nousEvery backline in the league will at some stage get terrorised by really tall key forwards. We are no different.
Obviously a loss would have pushed this thread out to 50 pages by now.
I have this thing where I get older but just never wiser.
Just happy that was the best preseason hit out. In recent memory.
Meh.Round 1 Gold Coast
Respite for a few weeks Donza
Can you explain what the word Meh means please and what is it's purposeMeh.
Play with the intensity displayed yesterday...and let's be brutally honest. I've seen 100s of AFL games with less intensity than that.

Most teams have a big defender these days.Every backline in the league will at some stage get terrorised by really tall key forwards. We are no different.
The key forwards just keep getting taller but it's always seemed we have played with an undersized backlineMost teams have a big defender these days.
Sam De Koning, H Andrews, Butts, Miller, Moore, Pearce, M Andrew etc etc
H Andrews was drafted as a ruck/forward. Pearce was a tall forward. Tom and Paddy McCartin were key forwards. If Amartey or McLean could make the transition to backman then it would give them a career. Most teams have a big defender these days.

Continuing to do so doesn't mean it has been to our advantage. The key forwards just keep getting taller but it's always seemed we have played with an undersized backline
Do we though?Need him kicking goals though and he's still a bit wayward for my mind.
thanks DonzaIt expresses a lack of concern or interest. Like whatevs
Still not convinced that a guy that can kick a goal effortlessly from 70m is playing in defence.I am pleased with what he did yesterday. He got 17 disposals, 10 of which after halftime so I hope he has turned a corner.
* Waiting for the request to explain whatevs *It expresses a lack of concern or interest. Like whatevs
We make up for our lack of key defensive tall ability with great defence through the middle and ability to rebound and put on a decent score. Most teams have a big defender these days.

No current season stats available
12/40 or 30% of their squad is "a few"“Obviously, their depth was tested without Patrick Cripps, Harry McKay, Sam Walsh, Mitch McGovern, Nic Newman, Corey Durdin, Zac Williams, Jack Martin, Caleb Marchbank, David Cuningham, Matt Cottrell and Jordan Boyd. To name a few.”
Cmon now.. stop at Walsh please.. rubbish journo
It was a much improved performance from Campbell and he was fantastic.Interesting to note that there has been no comment here from #RUNVS telling us that Campbell has no tank.
5 of them are miles away from the best 22. McGov, Williams, and Martin would struggle to get games at other clubs. So basically Cripps, McKay, Walsh, and Newman12/40 or 30% of their squad is "a few"

True, but their replacements (of their top 3 or so) were a big drop and much lower quality than ours.We were missing Mills, Papley and Hickey too so were not exactly full strength.
